Does the CLS needs Fuel Filter replacement......?

as part of regular maintenance. I did not check the manual, but figured that it needs to be done just like on other cars. Well, so I called around to find out the price and spoke to a tech at an Acura dealer who told me that I dont need it since it meant to last forever, unless the fuel tank fails. The fuel filter is located in the tank, thus it will be prolly impossible to get to.

So do you think the tech is correct?

I know some people aren't going to want to hear this, but gas is gas. The ingredients are federally controlled and mandated. I myself didn't want to beleive it, but I had an experience that changed my mind. My girlfriend has a 2000 Suzuki Vitara. Since the car is cheap she always bought the cheapest gas sold at places like Smile, Starvin Marvin, RaceTrac, etc. When I had 50k mile maintenance done on her car I replaced the fuel filter and had the service place return the filter to me. I took the filter apart and unpleated the filter material to have a look. Not a single piece of debris. NO sign of water what so ever. I couldn't believe it it looked brand new. So take that for what it's worth, but I'm not replacing my CLS's fuel filter at 50k miles!

lol, that's like saying oil is oil. Read the first part of this page: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/autos/gasoline-faq/part2/

Here's a pic of my MR2's fuel filter after 133k miles. No 'debris' but the filter was definitely dirty and in serious need of a changing.

but yeah, it's one of those service items that is not needed for 100k miles on the CL....
