You'll get as many opinions as responses on that one. I got the spoiler. As an added bonus, it helps me locate the car's rear when backing up.

I think it looks better.

Almost any sporty looking car looks better to me with a spoiler, minus Ferraris.

i.e. Supra, RX7, Eclipse, Mustang, etc etc etc

Don't you love it when people put spoilers on non-sporty care? Gotta love a Taurus or CR-V with a wing.

the contours of the car (ie the shape) look more complete...i dunno if it's just me, but the look of the back without it looks funny...but that's just me

It looks good both ways, with and without. How about a lip spoiler? That's what I want:

Spoilers can sometimes hurt the looks of
certain cars- i.e. 750iL. But in my opinion
our cars lend themselves to that extra touch because it is a 2DR sport/ sedan. When in doubt, scan in your ideas and use Corel or Photoshop to mod your ride out. It's cheaper and might save you from making a bad choice.

Yup, definately a spoiler.
That lip spoiler looks like a joke to me. It's just too small, again just IMO.

I think this car looks pimp with and with out the spoiler. I went ahead and got the spoiler though because I wanted a more of a sports car look.

That's the only reason I was thinking about adding a spoiler, but I think it looks better without the spoiler. Like someone mentioned the last time this topic came up, I think it does make the rear look even longer.

Sorry, guys. I was actually working! It's from StreetEffectz but it's an M3 spolier. It is like a soft rubber. Ron from StreetEffectz said he thought the M5 would look better. It's one of his many projects. He was thinking about $275 painted and shipped.

once you start screwing on spoilers and body kits, it starts to look like a Pontiac.
A lip spoiler might look OK if designed for the car.
I like the balanced look of the car without the spoiler. Gentle curves and lines all over.
Lose the 3.2 CL and type S badges. Out of balance as well.

Truly a personal choice.

i like my cars clean and without it being too busy...not saying that the spoiler doesnt look good on the CL cause it does, but I prefer to have the more euro look without the spoiler...to me the CL from side view looks like the A6 without the spoiler.

I prefer the car without the spoiler, as the designer intended. Spoilers look good on some cars, but out-of-place on others. The CL spoiler looks decent on the car, but I like it better without. In general, I think the lines of the car look much cleaner without a wing, and the spoiler tends to look tacked on, because of the way it's assembled onto the car.

Usually, one puts a spoiler on a car to reduce the "saggy butt" look, or give a more wedge-shaped appearance. According to an article in Car Styling Magazine, this car was designed to be an "anti-wedge" coupe. As far as the car's lines and overall shape are concerned, I'd rather stick to the designer's intent.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not preaching against modifications, or even spoilers for that matter. This is just my personal reason for not buying a spoiler(other than cost).

I personally don't like the back of cl, so putting the wing makes it a little better. But I want to wait until someone creates a better wing. - Plus, I don't have enough money. (spent all my life savings on my cl)
