nope.
It only displays disc/track #'s and message codes like "load" "eject" "error" etc.

I had an kenwood excellon hu. it was the shit. all my burned cd's would display the filename for each track. I could even encode whatever I wanted the cd to display. all my friends though it was the shit. I'd even put in little encoded msg. like "fuck off" so that would scroll across the display while playin 2-pac

 

Thats pretty cool! Did it play mp3s too? I know you can write text to a CD when burning but have never had anything that would read it. Can you have text per track or was it the once for the whole CD?


And as far as our stock Bose system... come one, what did you expect for a $30K car? Did you really expect a nice sound system??
Hopefully Honduh gets the clue and gets them to improve the system. Even the ones in Fords have nicer displays. I was riding in my friend's Expo, and when you are listening to the radio, it displays the call letters of the staion you are listening to, and it has traffic reports, wheater, ads, etc... scrolling across.

The head unit is actually manufactured by Pioneer, as someone some time ago discovered when he replaced it. There's a photo somewhere showing the MFG label on the back of the stock headunit with the Pioneer logo.

I'll try and find that pic...

Considering how much better the stock system* is in the $15k 1998 Pontiac GrandAm GT we have....

*It's the best radio they offered - has like a nine band EQ on it and the speakers are just excellent compared to other stock systems.
