Does the CAI really make a loud noise?

I really want a intake but I am hearing different stories saying that it is loud at certain rpms to that you can hardly hear it. So, all you cl intake pros, what does it really sound like? Is it tolerable?

Thanks,
CBS

You only hear the annoying noise when the car is warming up.
Otherwise no noise at all...

At WOT you will hear the roar...Also, you can ow hear the Intake Plate shift at 3800 rpm and the VTEC switch at 4800 rpm. This is the good noise...

1 - What is AEM's website?

2 - How come I can't find WeaponR's Dragon Intake for sale on their storefront they claim has it for sale? All I see is the Hyper.
What's the difference between these two intakes?

NO noise until you floor and VTEC kicks in! Then it sounds cool. This pertains only to long CAI. Short ones obviously have more noise.

Yup.. I totally agree... My CAI is soooo much quieter then my short ram on my CL was. It's so much quieter that I was actually disappointed with the sound of the CAI!!

These guys are right though... you really don't even know you have it until VTEC kicks in. Then, that's when the sweet music is played!!

So I would buy the Hyper intake with the Dragon filter?

I thought there was a Dragon ShortRam INTAKE and a Hyper ShortRam INTAKE and they each came with filters.

Argh.

I'd say yes.. obviously b/c I have one. It does increase performance, but not by a lot. It generally adds about 8-12hp. If you figure it out at in between at 10hp, you're looking at about $22 or so per HP gained. It's a fairly inexpensive mod that looks cool under the hood, produces gains, and sounds sweet at VTEC... so based on that you can decide for yourself if it's worth it!!

And my initial comment was:

Why can't I find the 2002 Dragon Intake in their storefront even though their website claims it's there?

Of course its worth it.

If you haven't already looked under your hood, check out how restrictive the stock airbox looks.

IT SUCKS!

Its also alot of heavy parts, and a VERY tiny air filter.

its a benefit to the car, because its helping to get MORE and COLDER air to the engine.

the performance increase is noticable, but who cares about that right? :P

Its good for the car. Stop asking questions, and buy it!!!!!!!!!!
