Does the auto AC hurt the car????

I was always told not to turn on the A/C before the car warmed up... But im my car when i turn on the car and the AUTO a/c is on, it turns on even without the car being warmed up, is that ok for the engine?

First, there is no need to warm up this engin. Just proceed with NO hard accceleration etc....till your temp. meter is in it normal area. A/C will not harm this engin either. I run my seconds after starting the car for the past 33,000 miles.
ENJOY YOUR AIR CONDITIONER !

The only problem is with starting the car with the AC on. More stress. But given that our AC kicks off during WOT, I'm pretty sure its smart enough to turn off when the starter engages.

What year is your fathers RL, older model don't have the lastest technologies (improvements etc...) as our CL's do. I didn't say to START the car with the AC, after it started, feel free to turn her on. As I've said, I turn my own seconds after starting for the past 33,000 miles. I have horrible allergies and can't drive with the windows down etc......

its a 99RL but my brothers 98rx300 does the same thing, and so does my sister-in-laws 97maxima, it doesnt start up till the car is warmed. So maybe we just got better cars?

No problem- just set it and forget it. Thats the beauty of auto ac- set the temp like you do in your house and leave it alone. It will use ac if necc or heat if necc. No added stress during startup or warm up. Stop worrying and just drive!
