Does anyones automatic CL shake a little on a cold start?

I've noticed that my car sometimes shakes a little bit upon a cold start, but when the temp warms up, it stops....is this normal. I do have an intake and axel back exhaust....maybe that makes it happen???

Since mine is garaged and in So. Cal. my definition of cold wont be the same as yours. My garage only gets down to about 53 even when its 35 outside. I've never experienced this on my 01 with 57k miles though. It doesnt sound right though. I'd have it checked, especially if it is a new issue.

Someone mentioned to me that its because the cars have crappy engine mounts.
In either case, I took my car to the dealer and they said they checked the engine comp and found no abnormalities, in other words they told me not to worry about it.

I wonder if its because of the Comptech Exhaust and CAI?

Yeah nicky I have the same thing on my car. I was a little worried but about 2 weeks ago I read a thread about this, in which Jens from parkave replied and said its an issue with the motor mount, its known , but they don't know how to get it to stop .. but in other words he was saying its normal, don't worry about it.

i have the same problem. i live in SoCal and garage my car overnight.

When I first start the car up, it shivers a little bit. But after it warms up a little or if i drive it down the street, the shivers go away. I don't hear any 'knocking', but the car just shivers every 2 secs when its a cold start.

This has never happened b4 until recently. What does the motor mount do? Do you think it has anything to do w/the timing belt? I have about 53k miles on the CLS. I hope this is not a major problem.

Any other ideas?

The motor mount isolates vibrations. In our cars they are more than just simple rubber mounts. They have either hydraulic fluid or vacuum pressure to reduce vibration. If one of them malfunctions, or take a few minutes to fully "engage", then this is what they must be attributing this to.

my car runs solid...shakes a little when its been sitting in the cold but fine after a minute or two. I don't think it's an issue but unless you guys can pinpoint that it is faulty mounts, then I won't be visiting the dealer just yet. Think the CAI contributes to the shaking cuz of the cold air its sucking up on startup...i dunno, it's more pronounced since I installed mine.

If the motor mounts are urathane or hydrolic....maybe they need to warm up to run smooth.

Dealer told me to let it warm up a bit longer. Seems like a bit of a cop out of an answer, but it always goes away. I figure no worries.

Same thing here, mentioned last time I was at dealer. They told me they could not find a problem. Mine only does it for about the first min of warmup from cold start.

i live in canada... i have experienced -20 F... when it's cold, cars do all sorts of sounds and rattle until they warm up... it's quite normal.

Once had a steel shifter knob... on one cold morning, I burned my hand from cold, shifting from one to second.
