Does anyone else's drivers seat move while accelerating?

Hey just wondering if this is normal or not but my drivers seat has like some movement to it. When ever i accelerate it clicks back like a 1/4 of an inch. Its really annoying, thats not normal is it?

yea i have power seats but like i said, when i accelerate the seat moves back like a 1/4 of an inch and then goes back. THen when i accelerate it moves back again. It doesnt move at the bottom of the chair, it kind of pivots. I can also move it while pushing on my floor with my feet.

Yea i guess rocking is a more accurate description. Have any of you guys gotten that check out by the dealership? Dont you guys find that rediculously annoying?

given the other annoying things with the car (rattles, mostly) and the incomparable aggravation I get from the dealer trying to get even routine stuff done, I just live w/it.

Scared to go to the dealership. i hate bad news.
" Hey my seat keeps moving"
"OK we'll look at it"
1 hour later

" Fixed the seat. Oh by the way your transmission is about to go"

It's not just a loose bolt or something that holds the chair to its base? or the base to the car?

I don't have this problem... but I'm pretty sure the seat isn't supposed to move while accelerating... call me crazy.

No it seems like the gears or something that keeps the chair in the position you set it, has some play it. Maybe its just the '03's that have this problem.

Next time I take mine in to fix a rattle I will have them check out the seat too and let you guys know.

Pretty big generalization there guy! One of my best friends recently got a 2000 Bimmer. I'm sure he probably secretly thinks in his head that "his BMW is better than my Acura", but BMW's are more prestigious - I know that, and I can live with that. He's also a former Integra owner and when he found out I bought a CL-S he thought it was the coolest shit on earth.

I didn't think anyone would take that literally.
I didn't mean I hate all BMW drivers.
Of course not all BMW drivers are like that but around here a lot of them look down their noses at my" Honda on steroids" as one guy at a light so eloquently put it (then I burned him). I just meant in my neck of the woods, BMW's seem to attract the obnoxious preppy crowd. I’m sure your friend is cool as all hell. Didn’t mean to offend anyone.

It's all good. You know what I say about stereotypes... if they exist, there's an underlying reason for that! (regardless of exceptions, such as my friend!)

I have a rocking chair also. It worse in the winter because it squeaks.

My center console armrest was rattling like crazy, I took a srewdriver to it and solved that problem. There is one screw missing so that sucks.

Consider yourself lucky,
I had a 99 cougar and it came like that. I bought it used but my firend bought his brand new and it came with a moving center console... YUCK

My 03 doesn't move. Maybe I'm to big

The 300M I had had this problem. The bolts that attached the seat tracks to the floor were to small. Dealer soultion was to use bigger bolts. Never moved again.

My seat is solid -- no excess movement.

Our Subaru (manual seat) has a tiny amount of movement with acceleration -- usually after I readjust it and it doesn't quite click onto one of the rails. Once it clicks it's pretty solid too.

i've had this problem! except it's not excessive movement. when i make hard left/right turns i hear a clicking sound somewhere in my chair... can't figure out what it is, but most likely a bolt is loose somewhere... *shrug*

Angry

Well, if anyone takes it in, let us know what the goons do! Mine does it too, and I have an '01. Funny that it bothered me months ago, then it disappeared, only to reappear after I had to take it in to fix something the goons screwed up. I had them install my icebox mainly because it was winter and I also didn't have a place to work on the car, and that the dealer would honor comptech's warranty if they installed it.

They must have used a power drill to tighten the lid bolts, because the countersunk nut had been torqued out of place. They fixed it with a huge gob of glue. Such a professional job. Upon its return, I noticed the seat problem had come back! They did have to disconnect the battery to work on the car, as I noticed that all my radio station presets were gone. And what else gets hosed when the battery is disconnected? The seat presets! Hmmmmm...... Has anyone tried saving their seat settings on preset #2 to see if it makes a difference? Doesn't seem like it will, but I'm willing to try anything at this point.
As much as I hate this problem, I'm glad I'm not the only one! As sophisticated as these seats are, I'm guessing it may be hard to find the root of the problem. I hope not.

How much did it cost you to have them install your icebox?

It was bundled with another install, so I don't know. Probably about $100.

Red face

Zoltanh! you live in Tampa? My brother has the exact same car as me, except his is black, and he lives in Bradenton! I bought mine about nine months ago up here in VA, and he bought his new four years ago. I never knew what kind of car he drove until after I bought mine. I thought that was freakin' really weird.
