Do you like your car rare or popular?
This is a poll. I am just curious if you want your car to be very popular or very rare or in between? Please vote. I like my car to be popular but not to the Accord or Camry level, probably in the 3-series level.

you always see a lot of TLs everywhere (esp in long island, i think we might have more TLs than accords... )
very rare to see a CL-S though. i like it that way
BTW - where i live, 3-series are more common than accords and maximas.... you see em everywhere, thats why i dont consider my 330xi anything really special. everyone has em where i live.

.. M3 and Evo are not rare........ especially M3....
rare = not a lot of aftermaret support and even tho they are some, they are going to be extremely expensive...
popular: A lot of aftermarket support with competitive price

um...
u dont know popularity affect how much aftermarket support u will get?
For example... Accord, Integra, Civics. 350Z, golf GTI, Supra (rare cuz its been discontinued for many years), scion, F150, mustang, camaro, blah blah have SHIT load of aftermarket support.
For example, if u were the head of Greddy or HKS, would u rather produce stuff for 350Z or um.. CLS/TLS? of course u wouold pick the Z... because u will sell more.
if u wanna see kinda evidence.. go to www.i-m-racing.com and check the the mod list for the Z... and that site does not have everything out there for the Z.
so yah i would like my car to be rare too because i like the attention but it has its down side too.

I must say, I love the G35 but I don't like seeing it fucking everywhere. I'd love if tomorrow, half the G35Cs turned into Corollas.
It's a beautifully designed car, I love looking at it, but ... when you get to see a few every day, it kills the excitement pretty quick. I gotta agree with that Ferrari comment, I don't get excited looking at a 360 any longer.
Iuno, I like the CL-S in that it's not super expensive, so I won't only see old farts driving it. But it's still rare. But it blends in with everything. While remaining classy in a distinguished way. But it's still just a glorified Accord.
Yeah I was contradicting for a reason. Maybe I'd feel this way about any other car in this price range cause I tend to be pretty happy with what I've got: I fucking love it the way it is. I don't know where the CL-S falls in the spectrum of rare-common, but I hope all my future cars land on that exact same spot. I bolded the meat of my post.

People have different definitions of the word "rare". And it is a relative term. Comparing to Enzo, 360 Modena is much more "ubiquitous". To me limited production cars or low-sales cars but still mass-produced are already considered "rare" such as Lancer Evolution, Impreza STi, S2000, 911, SL-class, M45, etc. You probably still can see them once or twice per day, but comparing to seeing fifty times for Honda Accord and thirty times for Nissan Altima, they are rare. I do agree that the popularity for the same car differs from place to place. I can see more Lamborghini around Beverly Hills than any other parts of Los Angeles. And we can see more Subarus in the windy snowy Northern states than in California and Nevada. Therefore, sales figure is still the most dependable and trustworthy reference for us to tell the popularity of a vehicle.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
I think most "car people" want a rare car that sets them apart but $ forces them to settle for something more popular. Modding def. makes a not-so-rare car (Accord, Civic) set itself apart.
I liked my 03 Anthracite CL-S because the whole time I owned it I only saw maybe 4-5 other Anthracite CLs. I think at least one of those sightings was the same car. When I got the TSX I thought I'd stand out as much as a reguar Accord. I've noticed TSXs aren't nearly as common as I originally thought Still, there are two other TSXs in my job's parking lot - there aren't any CLs.

I like my cars to be disticnt. My last car..I still have it but havent driven it since I got the CLS was a competition yellow 72 Formula Firebird on the original honeycomb wheels. 1972 was a strike year! People would rubberneck on that car constantly. Now the CLS while not really rare is scarce in southern indiana, there are maybe 2 others besides mine in my city one red one black It is the rare color of sundance gold though and people still rubberneck because most dont know what the hell it is and I guess the sound of the intake header combo

Aftermarket support has EVERYTHING to do with popularity.
I wouldn't call the CL-S rare around here. Probably see 3-4 other ones everyday. Infact the CL-P is more rare than the Type-S

Does it mean Honda Civic is more popular than Toyota Camry? I am not asking which car is more popular for people under thirty years old, but which car is more popular in this country, period. So why not just look at the sales number instead of looking at aftermarket support? Besides, it is very difficult to count the number of aftermarket suppliers for a particular car.

why do we need aftermarket support for camry in the first place? btw: at least camry has more aftermarket stuff than CLS... at least thereis a factory bodykit oh and altezzaaa ( i know it is but at least they are out there...

THE METS WON!!!!!!!!!...hehehe, sorry just had to post. Neways I like my CL being rare, especially the color. I wouldn't feel as confident driving it if every other car I saw was a CL. However when I do see another CL on the road (not too often) I do get the chills and get somewhat exited. But all-in-all, I like it rarrre

Rare. But the aftermarket parts situation sucks....in our case at least. Either there are no parts or the parts take forever to come out and when they do they're expensive as hell. I.E. $1200 headers!

yeah aftermarket performance parts are lacking and that does suck...but could u imagine cl's driving around w/ 30 different types of big wings and altezza tails w/ angled up exhaust. Sometimes it's a good thing to not have aftermarket parts galore.

rare as well here. i like not having every 3rd car on the road be like mine. ive actually had one guy ask me if my car was a special model, cause he went to 2 acura dealers and didnt see my car, but wanted one.
i shouldve told him it was a special model, only 1000 made and would sell it for like 50k+, then go buy a 6spd.
