Do you have to remove your blower (supercharger) to replace transmission?

I am tring to help someone out and the ACURA dlr is telling him that you have to remove the supercharger in order to replace the transmision so they are tring to charge him $500-$600 more for the installation of a transmisson.
I am pretty sure the transmission come out the bottom of the car (well i am possitive the trans comes out the bottom) and i am pretty sure the blower is mounted to the top of our cars so why would you need to touch the blower to get to the trans?
I could be wrong cuz I do not have a supercharger but thats what you guys are for... He has a trans laying around and they wanna charge him $1500 just to remove old one and install new one.. Sounds Steep???

I've had my main seal replaced and a clutch replaced. When they do need to drop the gearbox, they do remove the blower. My service guy only charges me an extra hour of labor to pull the blower. An extra $500-600 is way out of line. I think I pay an extra $120?
