It's only cheating if you hide the fact when something is at stake and the other person asks about it . . . it's a legit mod.

Shame on you if you lie about not having it . . . .
Shame on you for not asking and you get beat . . .

for those that claim it cheating, is it cheating for say a turbo car to run 103 octane so they can make more power? Take a supra for chance, most the guys that SR and DR supras out here all must run high octanes 100+ to make the power they want. Is that cheating? It's not permanent, you have to fill up the tank

what's this abot LYING?!?!?

Run what you brung... Size the guy up. If we're racing for money I'm not telling you shit. If you want to go behind the scenes and do some research then that's fine. You ask me what I'm running and I'll say it's a 5AT stock with 3 15"s in the back and your 350 lb. mama in the passenger seat.

If you've got the guts to challenge someone to a race for money then you need to do your research first. The only thing that's considered cheating when it comes to street racing is messing with someone's car.

Everything else is go.

Look u guys are talking moot crap. Why do we modify our cars?
TO GO FASTER! Nobody should put high performance crap in their car if they dont want HP! it would be a waste. I think Nitrous be fine. BUT NOT IF TRYING TO HIDE IT!

The way i see it............

A mod is a mod. simple as that.

Would it be FAIR to be spraying against a car that isn't and still call it a win? probably not.

Would he still win? yeah.

Is his car faster? no. but he still won the race.

Would the loser buy some the next time he raced him or even choose to race the same person spraying anymore?

if he did, he would spray and probably win with his mods.

You can't say that a car that sprayed is faster than a car that isn't, but if you are JUST racing, its just a mod in my eyes and to the winner goes the spoils.

I would say that a turbo or SC is like suppliments... techincally legal, available over the counter but still offers a boost, whereas Nitrous is like steroids (a quick boost for a short period of time)
here is a better analogy:
if i work out at the gym, and can usually hit 200 lbs. on bench press, but can only hit 300 lbs. with steroids, then that is cheating. (nos example)

now if i build muscle for a year, and am able to do the 300 lbs without steroids, that is not cheating. (na or turbo example)

i think nos isnt fair if you use it and not tell the person if they ask how you won? also, if a civic could take me with nos, it means hardly anything. his car still is a civic with a weak 4 cylinder, no torque engine. where as mine has probably 100 lb/ft more torque that is useful in everyday driving. plus i am ensured that i am not risking my car everytime i want to race (though nos used properly should not have major effects)

It doesn't matter if you whoop my ass at 300 lbs. and you got it all natural/with suppliments/on 'roids so long as you don't put exlax in my breakfast before the fight. I still get the pummeling of a lifetime. (Probably worse so if you were on 'roids) [my analogy for the it doesn't matter how you win so long as you don't f*ck with someone's car example]

how do you figure, i've lined up against LS1 camaros while on the bottle and beaten them. They have a 100 HP on me. I'm just trying to make it more even. It's a win and it's fair.

Anyone who thinks it's cheating is foolish.
It's allowed at the tracks, it's not cheating.

Ok what about when a woman gets a breast implants. That is permanent & is always there. Does that mean her breasts are real? Most importantly, would you care?

My point is, a car comes from the factory with XXXhp. Whatever you add to make more power is just that, "Added". The key to making more HP is to burn more fuel. S/C, Turbo & Nitrous all help you burn more fuel which results in more power. Why should you care which method is used to make more power?

Another vote for "not cheating". How can someone said you are cheating because you used laughing gas, but you are ok if you are using a supercharge or a turbocharge It is just another way of gainning HP to win. I said if you don't like to get smoke you can always get one too.
