Do Sway bars really make a diff?

My best friend has a 2002 TL-S, and he was recently at the dealer (his car has spent now 2 months at the dealer, and it WASN'T a tranny problem) and he asked the Service Guy about sway bars and a drop for his whip. The guy said that a drop would make a huge difference and the sway bars don't really do anything. He's now wondering whether or not to go drop and sways or just drop...I told him sways and drop, but what do you guys think??

Your service advisor is a complete MORON ! Second, Sways are probably to most advised mod to do first, then new rubber ! MAKEs a nice complementary difference. What an idiot your source is.....................

Yeah, I agree with Fabvsix, mostly all the members that have had the sways installed will tell you that there's a huge difference. I, myself are going to have them installed soon. The service guy obviously doesn't know what he is talking about.

Maybe the service guy was interested in doing the spring because it cost more... the sways are just a do-it-yourself mod.

Maybe not stupid ... he wants to make more money...but wrong advise anyways.

Honesty is the BEST policy ! Suggesting Springs for the sake of benifiting OFF A CUSTOMER IS NOT SMART NOR GOOD BUSINESS !

Thanks for the replies

I thought so, but my friend refused to believe me, but now I have all the backing I need. Now, what kind do you guys suggest, I'm thinking CompTech.

Oh, and just incase you guys are wondering, I do know more about my friend's car than he does, and I'm always on his back about his car...oh well, I guess its like my second car or something (I wish)

Thanks again...

It may not be good business, but we ARE talking about Acura dealers here...shall I tell you what they did to my whip when it was in for its last warranty repair?

He would have sounded less dumb if he'd said "you really need both springs and sways because they're designed to work together."
