i raced an sl500 older one like 2000 year model. with one of my boys in the car vs a guy with o no one in the car? he got a head start by a car length, from a 25mph roll, and stayed about a car length ahead of me the whole way up to about 120mph. do i suck? i had an extra 170 lbs, and left it in automatic so the car had to downshift b4 i went and he started a car length on me? i started to pull on him at about 100mph got to his bumper then at 120 we shut down. man i was pissed! and my boys was shaking (first ever race)

 

it also had an amg sport pkg, read it on back

 

I'm not calling bs, but there must have been something wrong with the benze if it couldn't pull on you after 60mph. They have 302hp and 339tq. They weigh 4100lbs, so they aren't to quick from a stop, but after 60 it will pull on a CL-S.

A race between a CL-S and a older SL500 would be closer than you think, from looking around at many different timeslips and numbers, it seems it would almost be a drivers race.

2003tls-a 1/4 race might be pretty close, I agree with you there, because the 500 ain't too quick off the line. And 2000 ain't too old! It still has the same motor as the brand new 2003 s500 and e500.
