Do I need to roll my fenders??

I just put my 18s (ASA AR1s 18x 7.5 +48 offset ) back on for the summer. I have comptech springs with tokico HPs. Last summer, the back would rub with people in the back seats over big bumps and the same is happening this summer. So I am thinking about rolling the rear fenders. I have never had this done before and I am not sure what it involves or where to go. I also want to make sure that it does not involve work to the exterior body of the car. How much does this cost and what exactly do they do? where can I get it done?

I want to make sure that this will solve the problem. I have no issues with the stock rims and tires on the comptech set up.

Any input would help.

Baseball bat? How does that work?

Anyone get the work done in a shop? If so what kind of shops do that type of work?

Listen to me!! dont to anything about it... what is happening is, as you drive your car your wheel-wells are rubbin on to your rubber, keep on driving the car as you are doing and put people in the back a few more times .. eventually the tires will wear the wheel wells out just enough for no more rubbing to happen. should stop in another week or so.

Be VERY careful who does it. If done wrong, your paint will start to crack by the wheel wells, and will cost $$$ to repaint the rear quarter panels. If done right though you shouldn't have a problem.

What size tires are you running? My wheels are very similar, and I never haver rubbing issues on my comptechs.

I had the same setup last summer too, and this time when I put it back on and it is still happening. It only really happens when someone is in the back seat and I am going over bumps.

Maybe I will throw some more people in the back and drive around. I dont usually have people in the back so maybe thats why it hasnt 'broken in'

Thats whats killing you. If you ran 40 series tires, I doubt you would ever have problems with rubbing.

I am running 18x7.5 +50 RonJon Inspyres w/ 225/40-18 Falken 512s on Comptech springs and stock shocks, but my car seems to sit lower than most other comptech drops I never have issues with rubbing though. I usually don't have tons of people in my car.

See if there is a tab in the fenderwell in the rear. Try cutting that. I know the TLs have, don't know if we do though. I don't have my Helms with me, so I can't check.

^ mclaren is on the money...if you run a 40 series tire on your 18s you will have almost the exact same diameter of the stock wheel with stock size 50 series tires. This would also make your speedometer and odometer more accurate.

Yeah I thought about that too. I had a hard time deciding between the 45 and 40 profile when I bought the tires. Stupid Tire Rack is the one that screwed me, because the recommended the 45s. Morons.

I will just have to wear out the current tires and next time I will go with a 40 profile. Right now they only have no more than 6k miles on them.
