I didn't have to. I did however need a 3/4" spacer to clear the trunk tension bars with the aftermarket CDT 6x9's.

u dont. two screws hold the bose speaker cover. u take the screw out from inside the trunk. pop the cover out. and their is 4 bolts holding the speaker. one bolt on each side is a bitch.

technically you don't have to. but it's just so much easier and will give you more room to manuever esecially if you need to make a spacer for it. less chance of you damaging the cosmetics.

Like others said...you don't have to, but it's a LOT easier to take the speakers out with the seats out.

thanks guys. if i have time, i'm going to try tonight. if i can get to them w/o removing the seat should be a lot faster.

i'm going to throw in a set of alpine 3 ways. since i put in the component set last week, the sound is unbalanced b/c the OEM 6x9's sound like crap compared

GL with the install. I've taken the seats out more times than I like to admit...haha. Its not hard just a PITA when you want to do something so simple. But its def worth it just to make your life easier and not scratch up the interior like they said. Just a piece of mind.

^ true statement, but you get use to it. i think its a matter of 4 bolt and everything else just slide/pop off. lining it back up can be a little tricky. just takes practice

Mine took longer than that...

More like 10 minutes because they wouldn't fit back in properly and I didn't want to damage them.

i guess the only problem with rear seats is that u have to pull it very hard to get out. i just bend one corner and pull that side out first.

I'm in the middle of this right now. Pulled the seats out to install my new coilovers. Taking the seats out was easy. At first I thought I was going to tear the bottom seat apart. But if you reach your hand under the seat were the "clip" is, just pull up as hard as you can and they just pop out.
Re-install now that's a different story. Looks like its going to be a major pita. Any advice to make it easier?
