Do Comptech headers make the exhaust louder??

I'm thinking about dropping the 1,200.00 on the headers, are they worth it. For 1,200.00 I BETTER fell a difference. I heard they are worth 30 hp peak, but 5-10hp under normal driving. I am a college kid on a budget...but I'm always up for a performance upgrade.

I had my headers and exhaust installed by the dealer before picking up my TL-S, but from what I've heard, the headers can definately be felt when in VTEC and they don't increase the sound level of the exhaust. My car is a rocket.

I can feel the difference, esprcially above 5,000 RPM, and unless it's my imagination, I think that the exhaust sound with my headers is slightly throatier than pure stock.

If you don't mess with the intake the headers make the exhaust note margially deeper and louder in VTEC rpms only.

Much bigger noise gains with the addition of a CAI or a short ram. In fact, you'll get more of a noise increase by substituting a free flow filter in the stock housing than you will by adding Comptech headers.
