Do all dealers have such stupid additional charges ???

So I’m looking over my “Buyers Order” and see all these stupid little charges.
You would think on a 30,000 PLUS dollar sale they could absorb some of this crap.
I know some of this is Pennsylvania rules, but still seems wrong.

Tire Tax: 5.00
Document Fee: 55.00
Registration Fee: 33.50
Messenger Fee: 1.50
Notary Fee w/Trade: 12.00
Tag Handling Fee: 5.00
State Inspection: 16.00
Stocking Manifest Charge: 33.00

161 bucks for a lot of BS if you ask me.

Shawn S

PS...VIN # is 002701
I think I'll play that number tonight.

I think all these charges, unless you know that there are ones for penn. that are the law, are BS.....i would def do some heavy inquiring with the dealer what these are all about, but personally i think there just trying to scam you......also i read on http://www.carbuyingtips.com/ one time that dealers try to add all these bs charges on, and not to accept them cause all of them are just that, bs.

Buncha BS. I wouldn't have signed anything until I got them to waive all that BS.

Shawn S, I don't know if you posted this already but did you trade your red 2001 CLS in? Or were you able to find a buyer? I saw the Notary Fee w/Trade listed so I figured that meant trade-in.

I prefer that state BS fees get itemized. It reminds people how their government ass plows them constantly. Hopefully a few will remember that the next time there's an election.

Nope I’m trading in.
24,000 and I don’t have to pay 6 percent PA TAX on that amount so it’s really good for 25,440 off the new car price.

I had someone who almost bought the car at 25K, but then backed out.

Depends what you have agreed. I bought my car out of state and they tacked on a $150 admin fee, and window etching for $125. I said to the sales guys, "WTF?" He wiped the etching fee and we agreed to reduce the admin fee since the gal had worked her tail off on the out-of-state title/insurance crap.

If you have agreed to these fees then you should pay. If the salesman has given you a final price "out the door" and now they are tacking on, then complain. I mean what the heck is a stocking manifest charge and isn't that a document fee???

Sorry Shawn! :P - Yep, I was the guy looking at his old ride. It was quite nice but time just wasn't right for me. I have a few personal issues needing my attention at the moment. Too bad for me

I hope you enjoy your new car!

Man I really dig the red cars...

Also, since I guess this is my first post I'd like to say hello to everyone. I'll be buying a car within the next couple of months, so I'll be sure to be here fairly often.

Hi Brian,

Sorry we couldn’t work things out.
They tell me the car is already sold, but give them a call, they may be bullshitting me.
Ask for REX, he knows the car well.

Hopefully you can become an official CL owner when the time is right.

Oh and Brain, since your not looking at my car anymore I can be totally honest with you.
Don’t get the AUTO….It BLOWS.
Your Maxima is stick shift and if that’s what you like, go for the 6-Speed CL.

Brain? Brian maybe. Btw, he's just saying he's "honest" because he's got a 6speed. Actually the auto is very nice and shifts very well for an auto tranny. If you prefer a stick it's self-evident you would not like any automatic as much. Duh.

The key words being "for an auto". That's sort of like saying "She's pretty good looking for a buck toothed fat chick"

Yea it was a typo.
Sorry B-R-I-A-N.

I’m a lousy speller, and spell-check can’t catch THAT kind of error.

Inspection fee???

I noticed you had to pay an inspection fee. Is that because Acura doesn't have inspectors at it's build facility??
