I have just the stock lower air box removed on my 01 (basically took out stock baffle box after the oem air filter) and it humms super loud at idle. If I put a normal CAI on my 03 will it humm like the 01? I like the loud sound of the VTEC at wide open throttle but hate the humming at idle. Any input?

 

My old cai was a bit louder at idle. Mostly it was the same until vtec when it sounded great. Didn't hum though.

 

Make sure the airbox is tightly closed on the 01. But you essentially removed the piece that prevents the humming.

 

Yeah I know why it's humming now. Just wondering if it humms the same with a real CAI
