Differences between 2001 and 2002 CL-S

Anyone know what difference/improvements (if any)were made on the 2002 CL-S over the 2001 CL-S? I believe the side mirrors are larger, anything else? I DID do a search but found nothing useful.

I appreciate it guys.

Why did they even make a '02 model. I bought my '01 new in August of last year and the '03 6sp came out in April/May. WTF? If only I'd known.

Jaa, mine rolled off the lot June/ 01. Oh, but as far as differences the 01 is slightly faster due to its lighter weight (less glass weight).

well the '02s have all the fixes of the early '01 models which is moderately significant.

And best of all, to me, are the same 5 spoke wheels for TypeS and non-darkened HID housings which have changed in the '03

the 2002 is definately quieter inside, the 2002 mirrors are way better, and they are also the "blue tinted" as well, like the 2003. and as others said, the glass is better and there is much more sound deadening material. there are probably other minor changes that we dont know about like minor changes to the ECU or minor fine tunings in the suspension or something, just little things that acura wanted to improve on after the 2001 was out for awhile they got enough feedback to know what needed tweaking.

I really doubt the added glass would effect performance in any noticeable way. We're talking about a 20lb or so max difference in weight here. The smaller mirrors on the 02 might even cancel that out lol.

The '03 has...

Different exhaust tips
Slightly different exhaust note.
Available 6 speed manual transmission
Different cup holders in front
Different heated seat controls (on/off vs. high/low/off in '02 & '01) in 6 speed.
OnStar in cars with Navi.
"Titanium" trim on ebony interior instead of black "wood".

you are forgetting the following:

blacked out headlights
body colored grill trim
ugly wheels
lack of roadlamps
different tail lights

D'OH!

Forgot those. I guess I don't spend as much time looking at those features.

FWIW, I kinda like the '03 Type-S wheels better than the '01/'02 Type-S wheels. They are harder to clean, though.

Ugly wheels? I guess "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Actually, I heard they were slightly wider than the others.

So would the 02 side mirrors fit on the 01 model, that would be tempting....aerodynamics, better looking, that blue tint.
anyone know?

nope, same width, 7 inch, although it WOULD have been nice if acura finally acknowledged its habit if using crappy tires on a high performance FWD vehicle....7.5 inch rims with 235 wide tires would have been more approriate for this car, even if they were the same brand and everything, im sure just the width alone would have offered a benefit over the 215/50/17 tires....bleeech...after my headers are installed this weekend, tires are for sure my next mod...

Oh the 2002s are SOOOOO much aerodynamic because of their mirrors. And the hardly noticable blue tint really increases the value of any 2001 model. And let's not forget the added 5 hp. So go ahead and spend your $$$ on 02 mirrors!

:P
