Ok, I'm new to Acura's. Just purchased a 97' CL 3.0 about a month ago. Although I never heard of 1st or 2nd gens. I've seen a lot of talk about the gens. Could someone fill me in with some info. When I bought it, I wasn't told about it. Anyways, pysched I found this site.

ha there 2 different cars completly .. the 3.0 and the 2.2 are the 1st gen .. nice cars ( i have a 2.2 ) .... the 2nd gens are the newer ones 2000 and 2001 i think .. different body style and the type s versions are pushin navi and 260 hp ... yaaay wish i had the loot ...sorry if my 2nd gen info is a little off

1 gen is the first generation of CL. it came in the 4 pot (2.2/2.3) and 6 pot (3.0). the first body style of the model from 97-00.

2 gen the newer body style from 01-on. only comes in the 3.2 vtec 6 pot and has the type s upgrade (260 horsepower and sport leather but not much else of a difference as far as i know). 2 gen also has available navi and sport shifting. but again the main differences are body style and engine size
