Congrats on your new car. Anyone notice that 6 speeds seem to be selling like hotcakes lately?

$1700 is a steal! How do you figure it? Do you mean comparing the tradein vs selling your car yourself?
My dealer wanted to gouge me $6800K +ttl to trade in my white 03 6 speed no Navi (5k mi) for a new 03 6speed anthracite with Navi. I had just bought this car from them 3-4 weeks prior, and had bought my Legend there too. Talk about not wanting customer loyalty. ONLY DEALER IN TOWN policy. I walked away.
I still am going to try to upgrade somehow.

1,700 is basically nothing. My family's taking a 5,000-dollar hit on selling my brother's '01 Eclipse GT-PP to get an '04 TSX/'04 Saab 9-3.

*sigh* I hate bad resale values. Mitsubishi can go to hell.

I had to go with the 5sp as my wife does not drive a stick. After doing a credit check, the dealer would not let me leave the showroom. I gave them my ’03 CL with 1665 miles and $1700 or a dollar a mile. They financed with American Honda for the same payment as I was already making. I also lost the price of the new Michelin Pilots. My wife does not know that I change cars. She has walked passed it several times and has not noticed the difference.

The actual price is hard to calculate as the sticker was $31055 for the CL-S and the CL-P had a sticker just a little lower. I traded a 1996 Honda LX with 78000 miles as a down payment for the CL=P.. So I can not tell exactly what the actual cost is. However, as the monthly is the same I don't feel bad about the deal.

When I get home from work today she will see that this car has no plates and then I will be sleeping in the garage for a while. Oh well. I see what all the talk is about this is a totally different car. I haven't done any strange things with it as it only has 11 miles but the power difference is incredible. This was a much better thing to do than add Comptech mods to the CL-P.

I do that all the time with Home Theater equipment.
It’s just another “black box with knobs on it” to her.

If she doesn’t see the empty box, she doesn’t need to worry about it.

Okay, so I turn the corner and head for the driveway. My wife is coming out of the driveway. She stops and backs up. I can feel the earth start to shake. She says "WTF is this?" she gets in sees the red S on the shifter and says "That's nice". I say "There's one on the back too." That's it end of story. No grief and she cooked dinner. Isn't life is grand.

Almost sounds like what I'd go through, except my wife after shouting the "WTF is this" lingo would proceed to hang me up by my nut sack.

Life wouldn't be all that grand for me...
