Did I pay to much??
All,
This is my first day on the forum and my first post. I recently bought a 2001 CL Type S in white with Parchment interior. I really had never considered an Acura but when I drove it, wow..
The car has only 10,000 miles and is in perfect condition. It does not have navigation or a spoiler and I paid about $24,000 +TTL for it. I bought it at an Acura dealer so it had been checked out very well. It was a left over 01 purchased new on 11-19-01, so its only about 10 months old.
Is that a good price for a low mileage 01 CL-S?
Please give me any comments. Also, any idea where to get a good deal on a rear spoiler. The dealer wanted $700!!
I saw several on Ebay at pretty good prices. Anyone gone that route?
Thanks in advance..

You got a little taken, but its expected when you buy from a dealer. You should be more concerned with the DOM (date of manufacture) rather than purchase date.
Spoilers are available on ahmotor.com. Not sure on the price

Hmmm.. seems a little high. I got my 2003 for 28999 +TTL with the same options about 3 weeks ago. But, the CL is a nice car so don't beat yourself up too much

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I paid to much, but I do like the car and it was my top color choice, so I guess its alright..
I also noticed some of the other used CL's had alot of mileage and where not as clean as the one I bought..
They did have a black 02 that wasn't that much more, but I hate black especially in the texas sun..

Got da Internet Goin Nutz
You did pretty good bud! I am assuming it was Acura Certified (hence a 100K warranty was included). If so that is a fair price, you may have been able to talk them down another grand at most. Do a search for spoilers. I got my from wings west I think (I am only 40% sure I got it along time ago) it comes pre painted and looks exactly like the Acura wing.

No 100K warranty was included but it was checked over and certified by the dealer has having no problems. It only had 10K on it with 40k of warranty left. I then bought 2 additional years of warranty for $10 bucks a month meaning its covered bumper to bumper until November 2007..
In hindsight, I think I could have talked them down a grand or so, but I didn't and thats my fault.. I think the low mileage made me think it was worth the extra money..
There are alot of 01's out there with 30-35K miles and I didn't want that..

Enjoy it, I've driven Acuras for many years. Check the car over carefully. I bought a 'Certified Acura' from the dealer and I feel they did not check it over at all. From the ignition sticking badly, the passenger seat stuck in it's track, headlights way out of alignment, ABS sensor acting up, and lots of other things, I feel that so-called Acura 'Certified Checkup' is only a marketing ploy. But your car is newer so hopefully it is as good as it seems. The year warranty I got was good but I had to argue with them everytime I took it in.
I hope you have better luck, I know it was just my local dealer.
Acuras are great (despite the dealer) and that's the important thing.

I just got a 2001 cl-p. I paid 20,250 which came out to 22,245 with all the taxes and shit, only thing i regret was not getting a type s and at first gold which was not my choice was pissin me off, but then u get in and you drive the car and it all is worth it. With the money i saved i'm gonna hook it up and take on some s types.

Don't think too much about what you paying for your car. as long as you happy with it then everything is worth it.

2001 cls w/navi, 19,600
Just bought mine also, s-type cl w/navi, 45,000 miles (highway miles) for $19,600. Dealer wanted $24,000 for another one just like it. Mine had a few small problems. The brakes need done and the tires were wore. Told the dealer to stick it
