delayed reaction

so last night i had to bust a quick 3 pt turn with on-coming traffic doin about 60 mph...on my final shift from R into D5, i pinned the pedal b/c i had to move before i got rocked...im thinkin this wouldn't be a problem untill i get on the pedal and the car barely moved, tires not spinning or anything....took forever to get going--> this happened once before as well, does anyone have any type of explanation for me?

hope i described the situation well enough, tks

VSA, if you give it too much gas and you say you had your car turned at an angle, your car is more likely to spin tire than if you were just sitting straight. So you probably spun so little you didn't notice it and your vsa kicked in and your car feels like its a small 4 banger. Thats the only explanation I can come up with.

Also, making a 3 point turn with oncoming traffic going 60mph is not the smartest thing in the world to do, especially at night when your car is sideways and no one can see the lights on your vehicle.

that post pretty much explains all the mistakes commited. if you couldn't wait for a street to turnout and around in, you could have at least waited for the brunt of traffic pass.

careful out there.

I know what you're talking about, when you put it in D5 from Reverse and there's a few seconds of neutral time where the tranny hasn't shifted into gear yet. I've only once gave it gas while it was in that neutral period and my car went no where until the gear engaged and then I felt the car shutter pretty badly. It was when I was backing out of my parking space in the morning and a car was barreling through my parking lot so I had to try to get it going ASAP. Probably not a good thing to do too often.

definately not....all in all i drive the car in a very cautious manner....but the woman was complaining we were gonna be late for dinner with her mommy and daddy so i was forced into the decision......

but that little period of "nothing" scared me, i can def. do without tranny problems, thanks for clearing that up for me
