I like tinted tails, but they need to be smoked not dark tint otherwise it just looks weird, like mine I did one coat of VHT smoke tint on them and its maybe equivalent to 75 percent tint just enough to give it that smoked tint. It really looks good with anthracite too.

Looks somewhat like this but slightly lighter

Decided to keep the CL part II.

Cliffs, blew cylinder 5, and needed a swap.
Decided to keep her after looking around and not finding anything that great.
Gonna de-kit her, drop her just a tad lower, and bring the boost back to 3 lbs without a tune.

Other details are:
  • Slightly bluish tinted headlight film to preserve the polsihed lense.
  • removing the spoiler from the trunk, maybe add a lip spoiler.
  • lower her a little more on H&R springs.
  • Reupholster the two front seats with BMW Leatherette for a matte finish that won't get as worn out over time.
  • Some cleaned up muffler tips.
  • All new color paintjob, was leaning toward an Anthracite metallic with alot of flake.

I really like the wheel you had on it before you changed them, although they looked like 19's and I prefur 18's on our cars.

not yet, I wanted to wait until the car is running, then we will do the aint, the mechanic told me they might end up damaging the car when it gets back from paint when they install the engine. Also, I wanted to make sure the engine was running proper before investing in an expensive paint job.

If you load the motor and trans from the botom you should not have anything getting scratched.

Its more a matter of people walking around and buttoning up the engine, not guaranteed, but rather by accident. Just precaution, besides I want to drive the car to confirm it is fine before investing any more into it.

Oh yeah, $410 later, and they said it was night and day fitment from the old resurfaced one.

Now I am already debating the blower going back in, but first I'll take care of the more subtle things and enjoy the fuel efficiency in the NA form.

saika.com is the fogs.

And I just got back, my guy forgot to swap over the timing belt gear, from the auto to the 6 speed. Good news is thats the only issue, bad news, we got to pull the engine out to access it. Going to help unhook the motor and reconnect it. I can't wait to drive her home.

Its not necessary to pull the motor to get to the gear, but it does make it easier.

Going to pick up the car today, we got it running like new, thanks to Streetka, I owe him BIGTIME, he solved a problem we were having and he was a huge help every step of the way. Really appreciate it man! We had the MAP and TPS plugs switched and couldn't figure it out. Installing the blower made the lines longer since the tape and insulation around the wires was cut. But now we have all new plugs, injectors, everything, you can sit a glass of water on the engine and it won't ripple. Runs like water.
Can't wait to take it for a ride. From now on, I am going strictly visual with the mods.

For those who have or plan on getting the blower, stick with 3 lbs of boost, even 6 lbs can ruin the car, I only had 40k miles and it ruined my car when i upped the boost to 6 lbs.

No problem man. Im glad i could help. I told you from the begining to check those sensors.

Its not 6lbs of boost that ruins our engine though. Its lack of engine managment. You're need to find right person to have it tuned and you already realized its nearly impossible.

Im really happy with you. I wish it was problem in my case :P

Sitting here, I wondered why I never got these two switched and could not figure out how those two plugs could be switched, so I went out and pulled them both. Looking at them, it became apparent real quick by their shape, that they look the same!!

On my car, the MAP plug (female side) is black and the TPS plug (female side) is gray. I had labeled the plugs with a silver sharpie, along with their respective sensors, way back in the day, so that explains why I never ran into this problem.

Now I completely understand how easily they could be switched upon reinstall.

I've never seen someone mention that, but dammit, add this solution to the FAQ, we should make a nic e thread with links to all the threads regarding potential problems with 6 speed swap and blower installs.

Gonna sell the blower with everything that comes with it, range of all pullies, etc for $1900. Blower was recently remanufactured by Magnuson.

got the car back today.

Feels amazing, and faster than I thought it would be without the blower. Definetly selling the SC and using the funds for some other things I want to do.

Very happy and I am indeed keeping it. Starting to clean the engine bay, interior, everything to get it ready for the new wheel and tire setup, as well as the paint job.

I'm debating between kinetic Blue Pearl from the TL-S or some sort of OEM graphite color with a gloss or matte clear coat and a lot of flake in the clear.

Took out the gauges and wiring, put the OEM pillar back, looks clean, car drives buttery smooth.

Ima give it a few more days then I'll see if I can commit this near to such an expensive mod like a paint job.

If you can keep it at 3 lbs of boost and run it well, you will be fine, but once you have to tune, ur engine will fail. So far, nobody can tune and nobody has. it is possible, but not right now.

Do the flake.
Just use quality paints/clear so it lasts.
(ppg global glamor clear coat D8152).
It will last for years, has high uv protection. and it was ppg's top shevle stuff a few years ago. Perhaps they have updated it by now,but it was the best.
back then it was 200 a gallon.

I guess comptech figured this out years ago & that's why they felt 3lbs was best for us I'm thinking about this JR ecu guy but he wants $5k to make our stand alone

at this point, it's not worth it to gamble, I don't trust anybody when it comes to tuning, there is no way to confirm it's properly tuned.

Flake would be so dope. Especially on AM. Probably a safe bet to keep it low on the boost. Tune is everything.

OMG, I kinda like that? I think spoiler less, and non-tinted tails would look a lot better. not to mention some 19" Liquid Graphite Legends.

For you people that are/was supercharged have you tried using the aem fic for tuning? I bought one for my car and my friend is very familiar with it so I trust him when it comes to tuning my car. He said they're shouldn't be any problems tuning it, I will only have nitrous on my car and that adds it's own fuel when spraying so I'm sure it's a little different with a n/a setup.
