EXACTLY!

2 years with honda makes a HUGE difference. I think we all can agree that if Acura cam out with a 2003 CLS it would be MILES! better than the 2003 accord.

Thats right, just look at the new tl vs the new 4 door accord. I would still get the tl over the accord because i think that its miles better then the accord. Just imagine if that tl came in a 2 door, the 2004 cls, now that would kick ass. And yes it will be miles ahead of the accord. Just my opinion

the CLS is BETTER than the pre '03 accords, and all you said above is true, however, those statements, do not apply to the '03+ J30a4.
well I was simply giving my .02 cents on it.. as said on the above quotes, honda does improve their cars over the precending years... so in short, if we have a 2004 CL vs a 2004 accord, the CL would be better choice by far...

You can't compare 01 Accord V6 EX coupe to 01 CL-S. I, as an Accord owner, admit that the Acura has more features, more power, and just tops the Accords in several key featuers.

Power- 200hp=155whp vs 260hp=190-200whp (estimate).
Tranny- 4sp vs 5sp autoshift
With i/h/e - Accord=high 160's whp CL-S=need I continue
Wheels - 16s vs 17s (aka 50% of owned by v6p.net members including myself )
Lighting - Halogens vs HIDs
Options - no options vs Navi
Warranty - 3yr/36k miles vs 4yr/50k miles
Price - I paid $22,900 vs $24k+ (not sure)

"Similarities"
Engine - j30a1 vs j30a2. .2 liters extra displacement, intake manifold that causes "supercharging" effect, VTEC camshafts while Accord has VTEC-E (economy)

Platform - Who sees this? The car looks about the same size. But do they look the same?

Suspension - There are several simlarities here including interchangibility of strut bars, sway bars, and I think even springs and shocks. Who sees this?

Is the car better? Anyone's opinion. Some people want more economy, some don't care for power, some want all the stuff you can get on it, and some like the looks on one better. As I said, the Acura offers more. Are they the same. Heck no.

TL-S wheels are off though due to tire wear.

*free post!* -- i'd take the CL over the accord any day. more styling even if the accord has many aftermarket rice kits.
yet the interior is almost interchangeable [dont quote me alex ] the CL has the factor of being uncommon. I also have a friend with a coupe accord and we appreciate each other's rides.

no biggie.
