Debadging

I just debadged the back of my Cl. Everything but the Acura symbol is gone from the back. There are minor scratches and you can still clearly make out the letters on the trunk. I already tried washing, clay bar, cleaner wax. Is there anything you know of that could help?

Gotta figure 8-9 years of paint fading, weathering, etc. Mine got debadged after 3 years and I could still see the "type s" letters despite tons of detailing.

You can try using an orbital with some polish. If that dsnt work you could try rubbing compound or wetsanding.

when i did mine I took the badges off with fishing line... the for the gunk used an exacto knife blade... broke it so it's like 1.5 inches long and with the sun beating on the right angle I SLOWLY scraped off the gunk. literally put the blade between it and the clear coat and just took my sweet ass time. then ur left with a thin thin thin film of that gunky shit, thing enough that rubbing a compound vigerously will penetrate it and break it up... removing it from the clear.

then i used an AGGRESSIVE turtle wax polish (forgot the name but it had little granulars in it to basically roughen up the surface, and that got the very minescule left overs gone)

I could still see where the badges were but with some more of the turtle wax and 5 mins of INSANE scrubbing it was 95%. then i CLAY BARED IT and re-waxed and voila 99%..

after a few months the sun actually evens it all out and you'll be 100% as I am now.

hopefully this helps.

Got any pics of what you have to work with?

Hopefully it's not etched into the paint too much!
