Debadging

Ok - so this is a stupuid question, but what did people use to get the adhesive off when they took the badges off? I've done it on other cars with no issue. This time, I took my badges off and cannot for the life of me get the adhesive off. I've tried Goof Off, Goo be Gone, and this $8/can stuff from Autozone .. and it's still there. Any thoughts? Should I just take it to the dealer and see if they can do it? I'm worried about ruining the paint - I think I made a few swirl marks in the black with the Goof Off.

I used goo gone with a credit card. Take your time and let the goo gone really settle in there. I gave mine 10-15 minutes.

Then gently start scraping lightly with the credit card.

Also if it is cold outside it is 100 times harder. You MUST either wait for a warm day or use a hair dryer. It is nearly impossible @ these cold temps.

I couldn't get it off. Some paint even chipped off when I took the letters off. I just glued them back on.

My car is now 5 years old, sits outside, and is black.
I just debadged last summer and there was no discoloration behind the letters.

just did mine yesterday since it was finally nice out (75 degrees) and the trunk was nice and hot from facing the sun. all I used was Goo Gone and the plastic scraper tool that came with it. the letters came right off... then I peeled some of the excess adhesive off with my fingernail until there was only a thin layer stuck on the paint. put some Goo Gone, let it sit while I peeled the next letter off... then gave it another squirt, let it sit for another minute or two... then used a microfiber towel and just rubbed back and forth a few times and the rest came right off.
I have very slight ghosting near the top of a couple letters, but I will get that out soon. I'm probably going to buy an orbital to compound and then wax the whole car anyway (bad swirl marks).
