I know in general the dealer holdback is 2% to 4% of the car price. Does anyone (maybe a friend of a dealer) know the exact number on a CL-S? For anyone that doesnt know what this is, its a percentage the dealer gets back from the factory after they sell the car. Important to know when haggling with the dealer.

Try www.edmunds.com they always have the dealer holdbacks listed in their car write ups. I believe for the CLS it is 2%.

WRONG!!!!!

Dealer holdback is 3.5% for a CL-S, in fact, it's 3.5% for ALL acuras. I saw the invoice. It's broken down into two components, 2% and 1.5%. The 2% is "holdback" the 1.5% is "showroom holdback". The guy who showed me the invoice (a very cool salesman at the Acura dealership I know) said that the true holdback is by adding those two numbers together but Acura prints them separately so tht Edmunds and others only report the 2% number. If some of you remember way back, the holdback on edmunds was reported as 3.5% but they "changed" the website to reflect 2% at Acura's insistance. The REAL holdback is 3.5%. Good luck.

Go to www.edmunds.com they do an excellent job of explaining dealer holdback. However most dealers will not negotiate the holdback.
