Thumbs up DC Sports Headers.....again..

I got my DC Sports Headers installed on Friday..and have been driving my CL alot this weekend to really get a feel for how they perfom..and sound...as for performance...wow..im very happy...lost a little low end power...but my god does it PULL in 2nd and 3rd gears (5AT)...pulls all the thru the band...a very noticible difference...as for sound...no difference at all at idle..and very litte at WOT...there is a very tiny "swoosh" sound ..when i blip the pedal at idle..in Park..other than that...quiet as a church mouse...they sealed perfectly...but im gonna keep a close ear as to any *odd sounds*...lol...the install took about 3 hours..the rear factory exhaust manifold...didnt want to co-operate with being removed...it was a pretty straight forward install....no clearance problems at ALL...EVERYTHING FIT GREAT..I bought 2 new factory exhaust manifold gaskets to be a sure as I could about sealing...($23 a piece at the Acura stealership)....all-in-all...it went great..sounds great..performs great..and looks very cool...lol...oh yea...check this...my mechanic only charged me ..$80 in labor..i was flat out shocked...and asked him twice..."are you sure"??...one more thing...the bolts that came with the hearers..worked great..no problems or stripping at all....I hope this helps someone...to me..DC Sports are good products...at least for me at this moment...ill let you know fown the road if thheres any issues..peace..

Yes, this does help some of us. I'm getting a header sometime in the next year, and I wasn't sure to wait until (hopefully) greddy or compech POSSIBLY came out with some or go ahead and go for DC sports, and that looks like the way it'll be. Thanks for the review

Just installed My XS power headers today and i am very impressed.. it changed my tone a lot.. i have Comptech Axlebacks and noticed a big change in sound.. along with very nice 2nd and 3rd gear pulls... once my ecu settles im sure my butt dyno will be screaming for more...

Glad to see everything went smoothly.

And just FYI to anyone wondering he has the newly re-designed 3 bolt flange setup. It's great to hear that we finally have 2 good options that are resonance free, and have great fitment.

Be sure to update us on the header if you do feel more good and bad things. I was interested in getting header as well, and was gonna look into the DC header and gave it up because people said it doesnt perform well and is made from cheap material. However, with your words, i feel more confident now.

Dirty type S....I was a little disappointed that there was virtually no change in sound after installing the DC Sports Headers...but you said you have Comptech axle backs...and I dont...hmmm...and i get only a tiny whoosh...when i rev the engine from idle...do you have a whoosh..or any resonance at all???...i have no resonance at all..my mechanic told me that if I install a high performance exhaust..thats when id probably get the resonance..

ironsurfer...I can tell you this about the DC Sports Headers I got...they are not cheaply made..they dont look cheap at all...the welds were very good..all the bolts were good...none stripped...and they fit like a glove on my CL-S...the ceramic coating semed to be pretty liberal on all components...I talked to Josh at Excelerate at length about the DC Sports Headers...and he said he felt they were 2nd only to Comptechs headers....everything he told me was right on the money..ATM...I feel DC Sports produce a quality product in their headers...im going to try to post pics if I can figure out how to do it!!...lol...I hope this eases you mind a bit more..and raises your confidence level a few levels...lol...

You would think this would be their number one priority. I would have definitly gotten these over my XS if it fit them 6MT, its not even like there is that much of a difference, just need to kink the rear bank for the mounts. They need to get on this and they will sell a lot more of these.

I don't think DCS felt that was an issue. I think they just designed the headers for the A/T maybe b/c there weren't that many M/T made. IDK though. I'm not DC Sports.
