^ Hmm, did you buy these from Excellerate? I know he said he had two sets going out. That would suck if the fitment is still bad on the DCs. Are they absolutely positive that they have the front header on the front and not the opposite? I know poeple have made this mistake before during the install.

I had a header from DC Sports Performance Parts installed, but I didn’t have that problem. It was easily fitted. I suspect it’s not compatible.

That's pretty strange. Is this the problem that people had with a certain batch of XS Power's?

I thought DC fixed this problem along with the flange... I guess not.

And people complain why Comptech headers are so expensive.

Yet none of the cheaper alternatives have been bulletproof.

By looking at pictures of the DC's, it looks like the flanges with the 3 holes both point the same way. The 2 holes that are closer together are on the drivers side and the third hole is on the pass side. It looks like there's no way to mix up the front and rear header. Maybe someone with the headers not installed could verify this by trying to bolt the rear header on the front.

you would think that you can't mess it up, but i've heard it happen.

but i'm also not denying poor fitment.

just throwing out suggestions.

HEY ya'll!

Well this is the full story so sit back and get a cup of coffee and a napkin because ur mouth is going to hit the floor!

Well back in febuary i bought the DC Sports Headers HC5222 and I had them installed by my local shop CARBOY. All fit fine and i started noticing a hissing noise coming from the engine bay and under the car. Well I took it back because it was progressivly getting worse and in the morning when starting the car it would sound liek an old Chevy. NOT COOL! Anyway it was discovered that i had an exhaust leak. Well instead of taking them off i decided to buy another pair thinking mabe i just got a bad pair the first time and i will take the old ones off and exchange it for the new ones. Well to my amazement they were messed up to. I called AEM and they said send them back and they will examine them., Well i snet them off and they recievd them 03.19.07 Couple of days later they said yes they are wraped and they would send me another pair. The new number is HC5528 i believe. They told me oh yes sir we will get you another pair and it will be 6-8 weeks before they are done. Wll long story short I am just getting the headers back after many calls to them and the customer service director on 05.20.07. DONt fall asleep this is where it gets good.
Again i took them to carboy and had them installed. BUt guess what! These dont fit!! Even though the design is much better and now i have the 3 flange design the damn thing will not fit because when you try to line it up to the head it hits the rear motor mount! The damn things is to big and the way it curves down from the head is way aggressive which is causing the issue. SO here it is 4 months total and $1000 bucks I am still without headers and i put the stockies back on. I am very disappoint with the AEM product and i am thinking about taking my CAI off and getting an INGEN one. All AEM could say when i called them was take a pic and send it to us!

WHY!! What is that going to do... I need results not waisted film. I cant believ the problems i am having and I might nbot EVER buy another product from them again. I shoudl have bought the Comptech ones but i was trying to save $$. IN all i spent $1000 short $200 from the comptech ones. I should bought them at this point!!

I wrote a letter to them along with Scott Papadopalis copied and we will see what happens. Thanks for listening..

Well keep in mind it's NOT AEM's fault. It's DC sports. They are the ones that make the headers, AEM is only the reseller. Take it out on DC sports not AEM.

IMHO you were a fool for waiting so long anyway. Once they said 6-8 weeks, I would have got a refund & bought the XS & had them in 2 weeks or less.
