yeah, if you leave your lights on during the day, they will be daytime running lights. i'm not trying to be an ass. if you keep the light switch in the on position, they will automatically shut off after a short period of time after the car is turned off... then they will come back on when you unlock your car or open the door.

Why would you want to burn out your expensive HID bulbs? Or expensive HID system?

The Day time running lights use the high beam bulbs, so that wouldnt be an option. Unless you had HID's for high beams.

I wish I had them too... But you have to to have a special module to get them.

If you've ever noticed you have an extra slot in the fuse panel for DRL's

the DRL uses the high beam bulbs on low output...why would canadians only have this...i like that, how it turns them off for you, and it locks the doors too. love that. CL's got my back..

Not trying to be an ass either....but I agree. Just leave them on if you really want them. I have my head lights on at all times. Just habit.

Nope its highbeams at reduced power. Some cars such as the Corolla just use low beams.

The way it works is by cutting the curcuit to the highbeams on and off really fast.

You cannot have this on HIDs because of there on/off quickness they will actually flicker.

Only the car I've seen with HIDs as DRLs is the new GTI. But theres run at full intensity.

I'd personally only go for DRLs for a worth while insurance discount.

Our newer four door brothers in the TL (3rd gen) forum have a write up about DRL installation. Not sure if this would be the same for our cars, but I'm guessing it would be similar enough to give you a good start.
