Damn moonroof plus this weird noise

I know there have been previous posts about the rattling of the moonroof when its closed, but have anyone of you taken it back to the dealer? If so, what do they do and is it covered under the warranty? Second thing, when i put the car in drive and accelerate I hear this weird noise, I dont know how to describe it but if you have heard it, you will know what I am talking about. It doesnt happen all the time seems like more when the wheels are turned quite a bit. Have any of you noticed this ? Thanks

moonroof: it sounds like a rattle but it's really the rubber squeaking on the car. they used to put silicone lube on the rubber, but now i hear they put a clear tape on the painted surface where the rubber on the sunroof makes contact with the painted part. i'd rather do it myself 'cuz it's not wroth going to a dealer for an easy fix like that.

sound: it's the abs pump.

that second noise is what I am talking about . IT sounds like a noise that my dodge avengers transmission would make when it shifts down. Kind of a grinding noise. I have taken lots of care to check , but it is not the transmission , cause I know when it shift and this happens while it is not shifting. So it could be the ABS pump. Can you elaborate on why it would make this noise.
it seems to only happen when the car had been sitting there for a little while
GLAD I AM NOT ALONE

Lets say it is the ABS pump, is it normal and should it be making this noise? I checked it out and it does seem to only happen when the car has been sitting for awhile. If is a problem, I am gonna take it back to the dealer.

As for the moonroof, have any of you taken it back to the dealer for repair?

Acura has a TSB number for the moonroof squeak. I (and a lot of others on this board) got it fixed at the dealer under warranty.

Last week my dealer fixed the moonroof rattle by applying tape just as mrdeeeno described. So far it appears to have done the trick. In the last couple of days I've driven in various temperatures and all's quiet (aside from the occasional rattle from the passenger seat and dash!)

Yea I think mine does the same thing. Its a weird sound that only happens to me after I start the car and start to move the first 10-20 feet. It makes the noise two times.

Whoa! All this time I thought i was being a picky f@#& (hey are we allowed to say the "fuck" in here?).
Damn straight I'm hearing both noises! I thought the moonroof is something i had to live with, but I'm getting that fixed now.
as for the second noise, I notice it exactly as you said: after it has been sitting a while and for only about 10 feet.
anybody else know about that?

that 2-time noise is perfectly normal. actually, i think of it as a diagnostic. my '93 Infiniti G20 dos the same thing when i start her up. i regard it as a safety check

Yeah, if the second noise your talking about IS the ABS brakes, then this is perfectly normal. I had the same question when I kept hearing the buzzing noise.
