Damn, key fob

Doh! I accidently washed my pants with my keys in my pockets. :o Well, the fob died and the dealer wants $150 Fuck that, I am sure that I can get one of those cool new ones for less than that. Where?

Look on ebay!!! They are always selling the newer ones on there!!

And you wont pay no where NEAR that price. I got mine at the
dealer when they were still $60!!!!

After it dries out it might come back. The tuned RF circuits get de-tuned when you add water.

Open the case up and let her dry. If not, sorry man!

I just bought two on ebay for $25.

They've always got them...don't pay more that $25 a piece tho...any more & they're ripping you off.

As nice as those newer key fobs look, they do not hold up well. The paint scratches and chips much more easily than the old black ones. My 2002 CL's keys look worse than my 99 TL and 98 CL's.

Believe it or not, you can 'wash' a lot of electronic equipment without causing too much damage. The key is to not operate the circuit while wet. Don't push any buttons. Disconect the battery and let the sucker dry out - there should be no problems.

I've dropped my various FOBs several times in the dog's water bowl (for some reason my key hooks are above the dog's meal zone) without any problem whatsoever. I just dry it out and use it later.
