Dammit im pissed. Rear defroster

So I purchaed my used 01 CL last week, and it was going good.

2 Days later I noticed that my wheels started to vibrate when stopping above 60mph. Made an appt for next week to hopefully have it fixed under the TSB that exsists.

TODAY

It is snowing hard here, so I turn my rear defroster on to clear the thin layer of snow on the rear window. NOTHING. Not melting after 20 minutes.

I pull over and check the fuses, and the fuseable link for the rear defroster is blown. OK, no big deal.

I got to Autozone and buy a new one for $3.99. GO back to the car and replace it. Looks good.

I get inside to turn it on and the lights dimmed signifying that the current was pulling and it was working again. So I thought.

I look in the fuse box again and the F**king fuse is blown again!!!

Crap.

1. Is this common with this car? Or is there just a short somewhere?
2. Will it be covered under warranty?
3. What if they find that what is causing it is something the previous owner did? What happens then?

Thanks

Don't worry too much...#1 most likely rotors and #2 there is a short somewhere, I'm sure they will be able to find it. Good luck!

I was going to bring it to Westchester Acura in larchmont.

Do you have a different one you recommend? I tried Greenwich Acura in CT, but when I called and told him that I needed my rotors serviced and mentioned the TSB, he refused service and said that it was a wear and tear item. Ass.

When I called Westchester, they said they would check it out.

Let me know
thanks

The defroster is not a great one to begin with. Are your windows tinted? That could be the issue. Inspect the wires on the window and see what you can find.

Oh and by the way....... drive the distance and go to Park Avenue Acura in Maywood. Believe me it's worth the trip. Wayne, the service manager and Jens the A1+++++++ tech will fix you right up. They will also give you every benefit of doubt with warranty issues.

No tints on the windows. - Yet

Does park avenue service on the weekends? I will definitly go if you are confident that they will honor the TSB and Headlights without a problem.

Jens is the tech? Can I request him specifically and mention this board as reference?

thanks!

Awesome, I was hoping that someone could recommend them.

But now GTO has me thinking about Park Ave lol.

I'll let you know what I decide.

I believe they are open on Saturday morning. Jens reads this board. Jens is not the tech, Jens is THE Tech. Extremely conscientious and PAA is about as good a dealership as you can find. If there is a TSB at issue and it's right, they will honor it. Call Wayne or Tom at 201-587-0029 and ask specifically about the TSB. Tell them that you are on this board. All of them read and respond to messages on this board. You can give them my screen name (they'll prolly hang up on ya!) if you want.

LOL, no all I told him was that he comes very highly recommeded from the acura-cl board, and he knew exactly what i was talking about.

I gave him a list of problems and he said he would take care of it.\

I was so surprised that he offered a loaner! The other dealerships said "no" since I didnt buy the car there.

Woo hoo

He was a very nice guy.
