when u gate shift u have to move the shifter over at like 6900 if your stock in 1st gear, it takes practice just get used to it, try to redline each gear as high as possible w/o hittin the rev limiter

I gate shift 95% of time, but don't redline it ! Does this sound like common sense ?

no its not commen sense because when u shift isnt there a delay?? so what hes asking is if he gate shifts what should he shift at when raceing? because it lags when u shift thats the question... if he shifts at redline wouldnt it hit the redline becuase it lags alittle?

Your style of shifting and reaction time is going to be different from everybody else. Start low and slowly work your way up to higher revs, until you get nervous.. YMMV (or YRPMMV)..

Ya, it deifnetly takes some practice because of the delay on the transmission between shifts. Since my new ECU and tranny upgrade the shift times actually seems faster. So I have had to readjust my shifting a bit. 6900 sounds like a good place to start, rev limiter kicks in at 7200.
