D5 to Reverse Audible Knock/Thud
I tried to search, but am not finding anything similar to what I'm experiencing. Shifting from D5 to Reverse, I'm hearing an audible knock. It's just a singular knock that sounds almost like a pop. Everything is operating as it should. All gears work just fine. Doesn't make the noise from neutral to reverse, or park to reverse. Flat surface, brake supressed.
Could this be a tranny or engine mount possibly?

almost willing to bet it's the rear mount.
My other car has a bad front mount and when going from p to r it bangs.
so going the other way with your bang ,I would check the rear.
To check have someone look under the hood for excessive motor movement while your making the noise.
It will be easy to see if it's a bad mount.

if I were you i'd go oem.. I replaced 2 of the 3 with oems and just have the rear one left to do.
OEM mounts will get rid of vibrations when u mod the oem mounts (fill them with polyurethane) or but aftermarket ones.
I've heard way too many problems also with the manufacturing of the aftermarket mounts and all that just made m,e say... to hell with it and stick with oem

Im running poly-filled OEM mounts and I love them. Yes, they do increase vibrations, but they decrease wheel hop, so Im happy.
And $600 for 2 mounts is friggin insane.

The front and side mount was the easiest for me. I think it took me about 4 hours with basic hand tools.
The side mount was laughable, it took maybe 30 minutes.

The front was a bit of a bitch. The mount bracket is hard to remove, and the bolts on the subframe were seized.
Its not nearly as bad as the rear mount though. I did the other 4 one day then went back for the rear. It took me nearly 6 hours because the damn thing wouldnt line back up.

Different rear mount and tranny mounts. The front and side are the same.

You have to get underneath the car near the drivers side tire. You'll see them.
