D5 gear indicator not lit

All other bulbs are lit. When I put in "D5" nothing is lit.

Most likely you need a new bulb and that entails taking the instrument cluster apart.

So dumb question here, I just had cluster apart and saw the indicators filter but didn't see a way to change bulbs from behind. If I remove that filter will there be 8 bulbs?

If you had the cluster apart then you should be able to see the bulbs. You have to take the entire cluster apart to get to the bulbs.

The selector lights are enclosed and not visible like the other 16 or so bulbs. I am talking about the "P,R,N,D5,D4,3,2,1" strip inside the Tach.
