Cutting Springs in LA Area (San Gabriel Area)

Does anyone have a hook per se at a shop that cut springs? And preferable installs camber kits as well.

I cut the springs on my CL before I had the hydraulics in. It rode BEAUTIFUL. I don't care what these people on here say, cutting springs on a CL is NOT dangerous, and does not result in a harsh ride. Just make sure you cut down the bump stop as well.

It's not being cheap, I assure U I can afford it...

One thing I hate about coilovers - Their springs are all LINEAR, harsh as a rock. I've ridden in my friends' SC300, Miata, ect.. that all have coil-overs, they're not as slammed as my CL but their rides are much harsher (no matter how soft they set their shocks)....

So I'll stick w/ my progressive Eibach Sportline 1.5 coils front cut springs

I hope U're not referring to cutting stock springs, this would be bad

Cutting aftermarket springs are diff.

Example: Let say U're trying to achieve 3" drop.

Aftermarket springs: U need only to cut 1-1.5 top coils of an Eibach Sportline to do this. The top couple of coils are their for height setting, the lowers are coils are for weight support/strenght.

Stock springs: To do it w/ stock, U'll need to cut lots more coils, they're designed diff., the coils U're cutting are there for strenght/support weight.

Edited: My bad U already have Eibach on your sig...

.... if you're looking to cut the stock springs... don't do it.. not a good idea and it's not safe .

My guess is that you're looking to cut your Eibach's that you list in your sig... if that's the case.. you should be OK. Hopefully someone from your area can help out.....

Cutting springs with a torch is a bad idea. The heat generated from the cutting changes the spring rate.

Actually I rode in a TL-S recently with cut eibach springs and it actually performed better than I thought...and this was on Ocean Drive in San Francisco...for those who haven't been there...the road is nothing but potholes and broken pieces of pavement. Oh yea...BTW...get Teins.

Yea...I thought cutting stock springs would be bad, so I went ahead and got the H&R Race springs with Konis. It just isn't low enough. I'm looking to cut additional 1 inch off the front and about 3/4 of an inch off the back. BTW, I dont have any more money for coilovers. (These were already my second set of springs) Anybody know of a good shop to do this?
