Custom Y Pipe Pics Before/After

I finally got my ugly ass acura pipes cut off and i got my custom hks super dragger setup.
it took them 10 p.m. - 5 p.m. to complete the job. i love it. the sound is a lot deeper and i think i freed up a couple horses top end. not sure if i lost power in the torque a bit but it looks and sounds sick.

should any decent muffler shop be able to do this...looks tight...definetly would be willing to do this.

being in CA...is it going to change the freakin SMOG level output any by doing this?

i don't think it's gonna change your smog output because i had mine welded on to the axle backs and the y pipe extends underneath all the way to the resonator. so i didn't get rid of the resonator, or catalytic converter.
my pipes measure 7 1/4" around...i don't know what the diameter is. I guess like 2.75 or 3"???
i used stainless so it won't rust plus the guys sprayed it with something that will make it weather-proof for 6 months or so. you can really tell the difference...i've been driving it hard today and when 2 gear hits 3rd there is no more lag, it just feels like it's all power on the end... yeeeay!
as far as any shop could do it, I don't know. mine specializes in custom exhaust for trucks, suv's and sports cars. the guy is a real pro. even the manager was watching him work and he said "wow, that guy is really talented".

since i got flooded with questions i decided to get myself on the ground and take some "underneath" pics for ya'll...(see what ya'll make me do?)

HERE IS A CLOSE UP OF WHERE THE TWO PIPES MEET IN THE CENTER

WHERE IT GOES TO THE RESONATOR

ONE MORE PIC THIS TIME DAY FROM THE OUTSIDE (autobahn sticker strikes again)

AND A LITTLE SIDE VIEW OF HOW THEY'RE WELDED TO THE HKS MUFFS

i'm gonna go around now so post something positive while i'm gone!
and yes that is a dent in the muffler and i don't know how it got there...so don't ask.

no scraping...the height is good. it's not any lower than stock piping. no he didn't spray paint it, it's just a sealant that he used, it's got some silver in it.

i see that im not in the majority here, but i like the stock pipes better. maybe if they were symmetrical it would better. right now it seems like two pipes of different lengths originating from nowhere. just seeing the mufflers only would look better in my opinion.

The stock pipes are not symetrical, neither are those. How would you go about making them symetrical w/o having to highly modify the hangers and rubber bushings, especially the fact it would have to hang lower then.

Did you get the HKS before/after/during the install of the new pipes? I'm just wondering cause I have HKS and I love the sound it currently has and wonder what the difference in sound is. Deeper? More quiet? Louder?

got the hks a couple weeks before the install. i was missing one gasket so my exhaust was leaking on the right side and i felt like i wasn't getting everything i should out of it. right now my exhaust sounds more confident and a lot deeper in 3rd and 4th. it's a little louder too but not too much. definitely more noticible now. still doesn't sound like chopper's with his headers...but that's coming.
