Custom SuperCharger Application?!?

Has anyone thought of doing this? Instead of spending the 5000 on the kit.
You can build your own application for half the price. let me know what u guys think...

If I recall correctly, I think either Allmotor or Scalbert did this before.

Keep in mind the Comptech blower package is also CARB approved and warrantied. With a custom set-up, that ain't gonna happen.

CARB approval alone is a significant reason to buy the Comptech performance products.

I'm pretty sure the blower itself is available through other outlets. You'll still have to fashion an intake, fuel management system, change plugs, belt/pulley. I'm guessing that making the package yourself won't save that much money over the pre-packaged Comptech product.

Also, I read here that the price of the SC has come down a bit too. There was on on ebay a few months ago that sold in the 3K range (from a WA state Acura dealer ??).

I thought I heard that the price was like 3900 or so. Oh... yeah, it's 5K with installation, so nevermind

I doubt you could really build it for less. The blower its self with the drive shaft would probably cost an individual nearly $2000. Now you need to fabricate the pulley system which, unless you have access to a GOOD machine shop, would run you another $500. You also need to support the blower which requires machining so tack on another $500. Now add on another $750 for the intake plumbing and machining of the elbow to attach the blower to the manifold. Lastly, tack on $1500 for the remaining pieces, the installation and the head aches associated with custom work.

And this is being conservative on the low side.

allmotor_2000 made a custom turbo system which costs him less than this. But he knew what he was doing.

I got the supercharger off of e-bay for $3000 shipped. It was Acura of Lynnwood.

Hey, if you have a few giant batteries lying around and can punch some holes in the hood of your CLS, try this out:
