I really wish I had the patience to do something like that. Don't know how it would look on our cars, but I've got to say that person put in a lot of time and effort into it, and that's something I can definitely appreciate.

Unless you drive a 2000+ bimmer that looks like it belongs in your car this falls into the "Rice" category... And for that matter if you can afford a 2K Bimmer then you should afford the real Angel Kit....

Other wise make these and hang one off each or your balls because your are :ghey:

Take it easy there big man. Personally i think it looks damn good and to do that from scratch takes alot of skill. It's definately a subtle mod and to call it rice is nothing more than your opinion, which i gotta disagree on.

LEDs are nearly heatless...much much less so than halogen/regular bulbs.

Why does the ring not light up all the way. The real ones on the 5 series Bimmers are a full circle of light.

i think he only slitted the ring on a certain portion of the ring, also i meant that the ring may melt due to the headlight bulbs since its just a plastic blind opener

He did it to make the lights aggressive looking, hence the name "Eagle Eyes" as he put it. With the way he described, you can make it go only half way around if you like or just at the sides, etc. Totally custom.

Doesnt matter WHO came up with it, but where they end up.

Whether it be HIDs, wing door, angel eyes or whatever... if it didnt come with ur car then adding such things is rice. Esp if its ONLY FOR SHOW.

Hence angel eyes on econocar = Rice-a-roni

I wont do it...BUT that doesnt mean i apreciate it..i mean look at the effort involved...Its this VERY passion that drives ppl to come up with new and interesting things...and if u guys dont apreciate and encourage that and instead call them gay or rice or wateva...then u shouldnt be on this board!

rice?
whatever not in your car when you bought it, if you throw them in then it's rice?
CLS with CLP's 16" wheels and winter tires is rice.
CLS with M5-M3's lip spoiler is rice.
Civics with GSR swap is rice.
WTF, any aftermarket part is rice.

Come on, guys. Get your definition straight. I believe "rice" started when you take advantage of your stickers. You put on stickers of parts that you dont even have or you put a "GT-R" badge on a Mustang (saw it) or "VTEC" on a Maxima (saw it, even took picture but it didnt come out "rice", I meant "right").
I wouldnt call "form over function" parts rice either i.e. huge wings. If that is rice, then stock Mustang GT is rice (HINT: fake hood scoop and side vents).
Take it easy on the term.

Anyway, I like what that guy did. Improve the look a lot. Heck, I may even consider doing it when I clear out my headlight in Feb.

I think it's hot.... wish I had the time to do that!

One of the guys from the Subaru board did this and it looks sooooo hot. I'll have to try to find the pic.

As far as rice... I'm not even going to get into the whole thing other then saying that word is so way overused it's not even funny. Re-read the replies from cor to I am RobG above as they all make good points... then go look up rice, and start using the word correctly.....

Silverknight: Don't waste your time...people on this forum call everything "rice". It seems to me that anything that they don't have, don't have the balls to do, don't like, don't have the $$ to do or didn't think of 1st is "rice". Funny thing is most of them are hipocrits...perfect example are the people that state that if your car didn't come with it it's "rice"...so anyone with aftermarket rims=rice, those with the 6000K lights=rice, those with drop springs/coilovers=rice, those with tinted windows=rice, those with subs=rice...I think you all get my drift.

Now those who want to flame please do so but at least I hold true to what I say...something is rice if it doesn't belong like an exagerated body kit on a luxury car (although I have seen some people get away with it), an oversized exhaust that almost hits the floor when the car isn't even dropped or stickers claiming you have products that you've only heard of and have never even seen...that's rice!

If your gonna make fake BMW lights, why not a fake BMW badge as well. And fake wheels. And a fake intercooler. And a fake hood scoop. And a fake exhaust.

Don't stop there, GO ALL OUT RICE!

It's not about "copying" BMW, it's about "copying" the "concept".

Yes, angel/demon eyes is a unique feature that only BMW has, but why not share what is great?

Things that don't come on the cars that you could put on your car are called "accesories" I have a TL-S, my body kit didn't come along with my car...i bought it seperate and adding it on. Also my K&N air filter...that air filter just makes my car so "RICEY"!!!

Get it straight MORON...AFTERMARKET DOESN'T = RICE!

Do some of you ppl know what/how the term "rice" means? Why don't they call it "beans" or "pasta, sausage, or bread" or wheat"? PPL who live in Orange County, California knows what the word "rice" means. Esp. Westminster, Garden Grove, BOLSA. It was mostly because of the asain crowd who were fixing/tuning up their imports...performace and looks. Well, ppl have different taste and things can and DO get out of hands. There are stuff that you can put on your car that will make it look "WORSE" then before. It wasn't called "bean" because it didn't really refer to the "Hispanic" crowd at first....but it DOES NOW! Why not wheat? They should start calling domestic modded cars "wheat from now on. The word "rice", was derived from from the word "asains", refering to the asain moddeding/tuning crowd

Domestic Wheat
More Domestic Wheat
German Rice
Domestic Bean
#@!%&($@#!$ Ugly
Nothing better to mod

Rice n. adj.
- Doing something to your car that would make it look $HITIER than it was before.

Ricer n.
- A person that performs Rice.

Ricey. adj.
- Something that Ricer would do.

You're 100% right I was commenting on that ignorant comment you quoted.

Erock: don't worry bro...I'm with you in "Rice" city, I've modded my car with things that "didn't come with the car" too.
