Cupholder Apparatus

Ok, my cupholder no longer opens. I took it to the dealer and they said they would replace it under warranty. The problem is the factory cupholder comes plain, meaning, I need it to have the black wood trim (bowling ball). They said I would need to order a whole new wood trim kit which is around $120, uninstalled.

Does anybody have any cheaper ideas? Any place just to get the cupholder trim?

They also said they probably won't be able to pry off the old trim because it will most likely crack and or warp.

Tell them your trim was installed before you got the car and that it should be covered under the warranty too.

Heat up the pieces that are on there now and then stick them to the new unit.

Do you think a hair dryer would suffice? Or should I have the dealer do it?
