CT Airbox and headers installation - hard quote from dealer
I just got a hard quote from the Acura dealer where I bought my CLS 6sp from. For parts (CT airbox and headers), labor and tax: $1810.
Does this sound like a good deal or what?
In a couple of weeks, I'll have 3750 miles on my baby. That's when I'm thinking of having the stuff installed. The parts department has already ordered the parts with no pre-pay on my part. If all goes well, I install the CT springs and sways at 7500 miles. I was also given a hard quoted price of $1252 for CT springs and sways, 4 wheel alignment and tax. From what I've read, this seems like a very good deal as well.
thanks,
-g

CT Headers, $1249 MSRP -- Dealer $1061, plus $225 labor (3 to 4 hours) and CA tax $106, that's $1392 total.
CT Airbox, $279 MSRP -- Dealer $279, plus $135 labor (2 hours) and CA tax $34, that's $448 total.
Sounds like a good deal to me considering there's about 5-6 hours of labor involved. So if labor is 6 hour at a cost of $360, that's $60/hr. Even if it's 5 hours, that's $72/hr. Auto service centers in the BA usually charge between $60 and $100 per hour.
Being this is an Acura dealer and my warranty will still be good, sound like a hell of a deal.
IMHO...

headers are hard believe me without a lift especially. the Ice-box dude I can do in less than an hour believe me its so easy just follow directions. Suspension have it done just in case squeaks and rattles or if an end link breaks your covered.
Dean can get the Icebox for $240 shipped and you can install in less than an hour so I would look at that route to save a couple of bucks.
