Crush Washers...

I'm approaching 1K miles and the first oil change isn't till 3750 but I thought I'd ask anyway: are our infamous oil pan "crush washers" also used on Honda engines? If so, are they identical?

I'd like to buy a bunch and figure the Honda's would be cheaper. Besides, there are more Honda dealers nearby.

The crush washers are the exact same. I've used the same Honda oil filters/crush washers on:

1992 Civic Si
1993 Civic DX
1999 Civic VP
1997 CR-V
1999 CR-V
1997 GS-R
1998 GS-R
1999 Integra Type R
2000 TL
2002 TL-S
and 2 2002 RSX-S's

The ahmottor web site shows five different washers and prices. Is it just marketing?

If you look closely all hondas and acuras, except Passport and SLX, from 84-03 use the same washers (prices are the same).

What's a "crush washer"? Why does it need to be replaced? Do I have to replace this thing with every oil change?

it's just a drain plug washer. It's a 'good idea' to change it every oil change to prevent leaks from the drain plug. And it's only 30cents so may as well.
