crazy stuff about the 2003 Accord type R

I was online(remember this is rumors) I read that the Si or Type R(whatever they're gonna name it) Accord is gonna have(LISTEN TO THIS) 280 hp v-6 i-vtec DOHC motor slightly firmer suspenion all for around 27 grand. Not to be mean toward the Type S guys but far as bang for your buck it's gonna be hard to beat the new Accord hot rod if this is true. Slap a supercharger on that beast and you'll be sitting at low 30's turning (atleast)mid 13's(which is crazy out of a Accord):P

Survey says >>>>> AAAANNNNTTTTTTT! Wrong! American market will not allow such an accord over here. Furthermore, all acura models are tuned higher in US than any honda american made model. Just the facts man....if the honda accord WERE to have that much power increase the next tl/cl would be monsters. Thats why none of the tuned civic SIs are faster than the rsx-s. They won't do it. You must go up a level for the better product.

No way the new 2003 will have that much HP. It will kill its own market. People would buy Accords insteads of TLs/RLs.

trust me 220hp and prolly abou 216 pound feet of torque. That would make the IS300 a run for it's money.

I hate people in civic's.

Breakfast: smoked infiniti I30
Lunch: smoked 330

I don't think your typical Acura buyer is going to even set foot on a Honda dealership.

Just like your typical Audi buyer wouldn't step foot on a VW dealership.

Just the same as your typical Lexus buyer wouldn't step foot on a Toyota dealership.

If that is true, then I bet you that, THAT will be the same engine the next CLS will wear (2004).

In Europe there have been very reliable sources saying that the Type R Accord there will be making 250HP from a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine, so it all makes sense folks.

I would not discount that rumor above. WHy not have that 280HP engine in the Type R Accord and use that same engine for the CL Type S in 2004, either as is with 280HP, or uptuned to 300HP, just like Infiniti and Nissan are doing with the QV 3.5 liter engine starting from 240HP in the Altima, all the way to 300HP in the Z car? I can see that happening.

Not necessarily. People dont buy HP only! They buy the whole package. Actually the first thing people look at is how a car looks from the outside. Everything else comes next.

That may be true for the base V6 Accord. If they decide on a Type R version for the USA market, it will be agressive in power. Very close, or par with the CLS.

While I don't necessarily doubt the voracity of the hp claim, there's no way that car is $27k.

A loaded Accord EX V6 comes close to $26k right now and that's with only 200hp.

So I read in one of the big mags today that the new Accord will use the 4 cylinder from the CRV probably making the same power it does with the CRV. About 168HP and as much torque.

The 3 liter V6 is rated at 200HP. So if it gets more power, it will be with a Type R version which will for sure go out to the European market but who knows if we will get it.

ya possible, but your going to need more than 20hp at the crank on the same (same being the CLS) chassis to run a 13.5 I hope they drop the weight by 700lbs too, then mabye And a little stronger tranny

The accord is lighter isnt it?
