crappy road lamp replacement

well about two weeks ago i went down to autozone to replace my roadlamp bulbs and found that the only thing to do it with was 194 or 196 which are rediculusly dim and are normally found as side markers. so the genuis that i am decided to upgrade looked at some pics of a tl and concluded that they were about the same light and then went to ebay and got a pair for about 150. Once i got them i realized they were not going to fit with out major remodiling of the lower air flow. I was wondering if any one else has attemped a road lamp upgrade to actual fog light what you did and if you have any tips for me. At this point in time im looking at just buy a cheap tl front bumper off ebay and cutting out the fog light holes and attaching it to my bumper Imput would be greatly appreciated

*sorry for the spelling i read and speak english pretty well but cant spell for life

It's a very costly upgrade for something that's not entirely necessary.

First, you will have to change those housings. They will melt with a higher power bulb. You would not be able to get them to look stock.

I'm also not sure if you will be able to use the existing harness.

I would recommend just getting PIAA fog lamps and adding them to your car. It will not look stock, but will do what you want them to do. You can also upgrade the road lamp bulbs to Polarg M6 bulbs, or PIAA 19224. Those are white. The PIAA 19173 are a yellow bulb upgrade.

New Fogs

I just purchase Piaa 2100 series fog lights, and I am custom installing them next week(Oct 1st). I'm going to fabricate a black filler piece for the stock fog light space and cutting out an opening so there is no free space around the light. I will post pictures and let you know how the install went when I finish. Has anyone else done something like this?
