Couldnt wait any longer

well...I succumbed to the pressure today and bought a 2002 CLS. I cancelled the 03 that I had on order and brought home my new baby today. Silver/Black 02 with spoiler and appearance package. Sticker was 32, 640 but bought for 28, 560, sound like a good deal? Bought it from AcuraCarland in Atlanta and they said it was only that low cause this was the last 02 Silver in stock. By the way, already hit 105 just CRUISING down I20, cant wait to find out how much more this baby will will roll. MANY MODS TO COME, starting with the exhuast.

Well, seeing that the msrp was 32 somthing, then i assume you got it with navi., and if you did, then ya, i would say u got a good price. IF it is non navi, then still ok, but maby could have done a little better. Your realy not suposed to hit 105 on the first day you got the car, ever here of break in...no vtec range for atleast first 500 miles or so.....also can you please elaborat on the "apearence package" you got, cause there is no such thing as an apearence package for this car......

Appeance Package is a bogus charge that the dealer charges on all new TYPE S's that they get in at Acura Carland in Atlanta for some reason. It adds painted mudflaps, all season floormats, trunk tray, and 2 type S badges on the rear side windows. Also, I completely understand the fact that you have to break in the car. I varied the speed from 25-105 today. THe 105 only happened because I wasnt paying attention to the speedometer when driving on 20 and since my last car was a 2 door yukon, it felt like I was doing 80. My CL Type S is also not with Navi, had no real desire to have it. THe cars MSRP wouldve been 34,??? with that. Plus, my dad has a SC430 and XJR with Navi and I basically think theyre a complete waste. Nice feature, but there are some things called "ROAD MAPS" that they sell at local gas stations all across the country.

Welcome to the fam...btw, I had my 30k service on my first gen done at Carland Acura in Dec.(I didn't buy it there), but damn man...best customer service I've had in a long time. Prices were reasonable, and mechanics and service people took time out for me...I don't know how mod friendly they are (they did put my k&n drop in for me..hehe), but them giving me a CL typeS for a loaner car wasn't so bad either

Congrat on your new ride. If you've been driving for hours and hours, it sounds like you're all over the state cuz I20 is up near B'Ham/Atlanta and Auburn is on I85.

Your first mod s/b a radar detector. Alabama State Trooper are among the best. Those roads are wide open especially on I65 south of B'Ham.

You really should have gotten the Navi. There are a lot of back roads in AL, it would have come in handy if you visit some of the major cities around the area (i.e. Atlanta) and thinking about shortcuts. I'm guessing you're a student so drives to New Orleans, Florida, Atlanta, and other sporting events in the South would be plenty.

Welcome to the board.

First off, congrats....and welcome!!!

Second, I bought my 2002 cl-s from acura carland in duluth georgia and had to pay that app. pack charge.....but I dont have any type S badges on the rear side windows!!!!1 What gives??? Can I get these anywhere or do I have to go bitch to acura?? Also, is the car supposed to come with a cargo net? I didn't get one but I've heard some people on the site talking about them??

Basically I just bitched about the $800 for mudflaps and trunk tray and what not, and I had seen a CLS earlier last week with the badges on the back windows that looked unbelievablewith them there so I told them to throw those in also and from then on I had no prob.

The navigation I did think about, but I lived in ATL as a kid and know it like the back of my hand and on trips, it is nice to have, I just didnt see the point of it. A big part of me not getting it would be if some smart a$$ might think it was cute to rip my new baby of her navi , which woulda sent me off the deep end cause alot of college people might have a little disregard for new cars. Thanks again for all the complements, hope to have pics up soon as soon as I get the chance to tint the windows. (Could be awhile)
