Talking Couldn't be more pleased.

Well, I have been on this site now for awhile, and wanted to give my most recent update on the CLS. No pics, but now I jus got a new phone I might try to get some up eventually sorry. I have approx 129K on it and have no complaints about this car. Have had the 105k service done. I have yet to replace the spark plugs, car runs fine but am soon. And let me add the best way to keep the transmission on the car running great, GET YOUR TRANNY SERVICED. I just went to the stealership and got mine serviced; and I tell you, that was the best $140 I ever spent on the car. Could tell a huge diffrence in how smooth it shifted after. Take care of this car, and it will take care of you.

That's not true at all. There is enough evidence to show that regular transmission servicing cannot fix the design flaw the automatic transmission. If that would have solved the problem, there would have been a TSB for it.

hell, mine lasted 225k miles and was only serviced once. your tranny will probably crap out now because you got rid of the magical fluid that was in it.

Hmm, at $140, you seem to be doing a tranny flush. I have been doing a tranny fluid change that costs around $40, and do it every 15k to 30k miles. I have 129k miles so far on my 2001 CL-S -mostly city driving.

Already had tranny replaced, at about 50k. Tranny was shifting fine, but now it's butter!

Acura 3x3 method. Drain fill, drain fill, drain fill. Had the tranny replaced at the same dealership. I know I could of done it myself, but its just too damn irritating to get to one part, that I don't recall right now. I really only want Acura to do any work on it or either my mechanic.

Doing the drain/fill your self has many advantages over the dealer. Obviously the price, but don't fool yourself into thinking the dealership is doing it a special/better way. They probably won't put as much care/attention into it as you would.

I have a pretty similar situation to you. I had the tranny replaced at around 70k. Never serviced it until about 150k. I had the dealer service it for about that price, but I don't know if it was a 1x3 or a 3x3. Either way, my motor mounts are so whack, that I couldn't tell a difference in shifting.

Still, I'm pretty happy with my trans. With so many "My tranny shit the bed" stories, I'm surprised mine hasn't had any problems. Maybe the new case design for post 3/2005 models really did fix it?
