cost for resurfacing

Good Morning everyone

The dealership quotes like $400+ to resurface rotors.

I figured, 'what the hell', and called up a local brake shop. They resurface the rotors for $7.50 each if the part only is brought in. If I bring in the entire car, then they require a full brake service (lube, brake pad replacement, inspect..etc) for $120 on our cars. If I want to bring in my own pads, then its $75.

1. Sounds like a good deal to me, what do you folks think?

2. Is it safe to do these types of things at local shops or only do them at the dealer?

400 is too much, i dunno if i would report them for price gouging. i was quoted 130 for a clp.

i would make sure that the shop that resurfaces the rotor used a lather that cuts em slow so they don't build heat.
the most i have paid was about 30 for both rotors on an older car.

but i do not know if the rotors are easy to disassemble
