Cost to replace airbags

Attached in the photo gallery is a picture. How much should it cost to replace the airbags in the Cl type s? Also, since it is an insurance claim, what is the likelihood that this car will be considered totaled?

Isn't it protocol to total a car if the airbags deploy?

No. They are replaceable & so is the airbag controller module. Figure $300-$400 for each airbag then the new sensors & controller. Just the airbag system would run you about $1K. Maybe less if you can find a deal. But if this is insurance covered then it will be closer to the $1K or more.

it just works out this way a lot of the times since replacing all the airbags costs more than just tossing the car

I had an accident a few months back hat blew both airbags and both seatbelts.

For the bags, SRS computer, Clock Ring, Seatbelts, etc... I think the cost was about $3500 or so.

Not to mention fixing my front end which had about the same damage as yours, total cost was bout $6500. Insurance paid for the whole thing and body shop had it back to me in a about a week and a half.

Total damage for car: 75.1% of car in good condition, 80.2% of car in excellent condition. This is the estimate so far.

Will this car be totaled? Also, any advice on whether I should recommend that they total it or not?

for a car to be totaled, the cost of repair has to be more than half of the cars value at the time.

It was raining and I made a turn and it hit a light pole. I did not receive a ticket since the cop wrote that he thinks that it was a blowout (based on looking at the road) but I do not know for sure if it was a blowout or not...all I know is that the stability control didn't kick in.

All the advice here has been very helpful especially since it gives me an idea of whether I should look for a new car or not. If I need a new car, I need to know soon since not having a car is a huge nuisance.
