Thank you Soopa .Cute gadget but let's face it we are not clean room technicians and last time I checked our computer gear spends alot of time getting fixed from "accidental gravity checks" .
These sort of gadgets are touted a lot when manufacturers talk about servicing cars .But most of these gadgets are more of a pain in the ass then they are anything else .I have worked (suffered is more like it) though a great variety of gadgetry supplied by car makers in an effort to ease the burden .
What few people realize is that these days mechanics or "technicians" as we are fashionably being called have to be part time plumbers mechanics electricians computer repair specialists so on and so forth .What would be really useful would be a good EASY to read service manual .Honda books are better than some but not as good or logical as others .Spare me the overpriced computer gadgetry and let's see some real training not the fanciful nonsense that Honda puts out there where after three years of production class is just about ready for the last generation of TL's .Honda/Acura needs seriously to rethink it's training procedures and maynbe take a page from another maker .Saab comes to mind here ,the reasons are simple .WHen Saab introduced the 9000 way back when I was working for a Saab dealer .The first people on the dealer level to see the cars in the flesh where one or two techs from each dealer .This was done so that these guys could get everybody up to speed on what was coming .It saved a lot of hassles if there were initial problems .These seminars on the new cars occurred before the car was even available for sale .Honda sucks in this respect .They shove new cars on the market .The techs (on whose shoulders this whole deal really rides ) are left to sort out how the car works byt the old method of trial and error .This is a lamentable state of affairs but due to Honda corporate having it's head in it's collective butt this is not likey to change .SO enough cute toys how about real and useful knowledge when it's needed not years later when everybody has figured it out on their own .

Jens that was a beautiful post and I entirely agree, having worked a bit service side before moving to sales. It's very true that high tech gadgets tend to cause more issues than they help solve or alleviate.

absolutely GAY!!!!!!!!!...like Zamo said...pointless unless your new..that would actually slow me and most techs down...plus it's another thing to lose, break, fix, buy, drop, etc...Not to mention to get the fucking thing updated every year.

Updated every year ANt7701 ???? More like every 5 minutes the way Acura works LOL .Seriously it has applications I am sure but for what it costs versus what it really does I'll take a service manual and the accompanying ETM any day .
